Well, we are British. It's in our nature to moan

You are currently displaying classic signs of British nit-picking behaviour, good sir.

PMSL! Given their recent music offering, I may have to agree!

How can you lump Oasis in with those 2?

I'm not having a go but even if people think their later output isn't good, how can a band that's made so much classic music be considered terrible.

Is this a terrible band?

By that logic U2, Arctic Monkeys and Michael Jackson are terrible.

I'm not arguing your point, because Oasis is my favourite band ever, but U2 have always been consistently shit, Arctic Monkeys' latest album was really shit, and MJ was overrated imo.

I was trying to point out that those artists have made great music early in their careers only for their output to taper off later on.

so in my mind they are not terrible.

like Oasis, although I myself like all their stuff.

Can't believe we've not had more shouts for Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Travis; you know, the type of band who make music for people who hate music.

Have to add my voice to the Scouting For Girls hatemongers, the level of their success beggars belief.”

OCS have plenty of amazing songs, and this is coming from a musician not someone who hates music. Noel in fact made them a wee plaque with 'The Second Best Band In Britain' inscribed on it lol.... they also have a huge fan in Paul Weller..

Still everyone's got their opinions, though often not backed up by hearing enough material... e.g. songs like these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyaJBTw4QTc which Foxy wrote when he was 16 yo.

I totally agree with the Scouting For Girls dislike. Sets my teeth on edge.

I can't understand The Kasabian dislike- their last album really was a triumph. Fire is a really brilliant song.

One band that I really hate at the moment is Vampire Weekend, they're like nails on a blackboard for me! I'd understand if people don't agree with that though, they just seem to have a weird effect on me!

Yeah Vampire Weekend are absolute tripe. They are just so generically shit imo.

Also, I think Nirvana are crap.

Really? Have you heard Kurdt's live version of 'Where Did You Sleep Last Night', 'Sliver' or anything off the 'In Utero' album?

Amazing band.

Agree about Vampire Weekend, such a waste of a great name

Yup. Nirvana are crap, IMO. Just terribly overrated. I've tried listening to Nevermind and gave up. But hey, that's my opinion, what do I know?

And Vampire Weekend are growing on me. Only slightly, may I hasten to add. I like A-Punk and Holiday, and they were good on Jools Holland. They sort of remind me of an anti-Panic! At The Disco. I don't like Giving Up the Gun (boring, with a shite video), or Cousins.
