I'm really sorry to Lauren fans but I watch her and I find it really difficult to like her.

I just wanted to know if I was the only one, whether someone can shed some light on this weird disliking?

I don't mind her. I do find her a bit uptight/serious and clinical though which is probably not right for a farm girl.

However I think she is a great talent and would suit other roles perfectly. I'm sure she will do really well wether she wins or not

No I think she is lovely. Her professionalism and determination is admirable. But she is too old for the role of Dorothy.

Sorry ... A bit harsh from me. I just think Lauren is getting alot of unfair critisism on this forum.

Don't be sorry, it's fine

I get what you mean, she can come across as a bit cold and clinical. As weird as it sounds, she is so professional that it might put people off. Some might not be able to relate to her and might not see her as a farm girl. But i'd say she is probably nice enough. Just not a Dorothy imo.

Still she'd be better than Sophie.

It's alright, I apologise if there's already threads on this.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is she's very attractive, has an extremely powerful voice and she's very professional as well but there's just something that doesn't do it for me and I can't figure out what it is.

Clearly very competent but I never feel inclined to pick up the phone to vote for her.

Whether we like it or not, these shows are about more than just talent. They are as much about popularity, and in order to be popular you need to endear yourself to the audience. I just find Lauren a bit distant and lacking in warmth. She hasn't endeared herself to me.

You're not the only one, I am the same. She sings and I don't deny her voice is good but it doesn't do anything much for me and neither does her performance.

I guess different performers appeal to different people, with her I don't get it at all, don't see any particular appeal, and wouldn't fancy seeing her as Dorothy.

I don't see her as Dorothy. I don't warm to her either, becuase she's more the type you respect. I think she's got it all frankly for the west end, and see her as being very talented. I do not like seeing her expressions close up though I must admit. she doesn't look all that happy when she smiles to be honest either.

I do like her, and am sure she'd be a compitant Dorothy. It's just not for me.

I really like her- Steph is my favourite but Lauren my second now. I prefer someone like Lauren who just gets on with things and doesn't fall apart everytime someone gets voted off. In the first couple of weeks I did think there was an air of arrogance about her but I'm not really bothered by that too much- she has every right to be confident with her talent.

In a way I hope she doesn't win because I think there are so many parts for her that are better than the role of Dorothy but if she does win I'm sure she'll be convincing.

I am the same, I just cannot warm to her at all. I just find her a bit false, she may have a good voice, but I just don't like her.
I just don't know who would be the best Dorothy. I am not that keen on any of the ones left. I would have to go with Sophie, if she could become more confident.

Yes. She's a competent singer, but that's all, and it's not enough. She lacks warmth and what Simon Cowell in his infinite wisdom calls 'the likability factor'. I have no doubt she will find a place in musical theatre, but she does not have what it takes to be Dorothy. More than anything, we the audience have to warm to Dorothy, we have to identify with her and sympathize with her plight. Lauren is elegant and pretty and she can sing, but at the moment she can't do warmth, subtlety, or vulnerability, so she's not right for Dorothy. In time she may acquire some additional skills, but at the moment I say she has a way to go (and I'm not sure that warmth is something you can learn).

No.

She seems determined but nice to me.All the other girls seem to get on well with her and they know her much better than we do.

Most importantly she is a fantastic singer and performer and will do very well out of this show whatever the result.

For me there`s no spontaneity with her, even when she`s being interviewed it`s all very clinical and measured.

Seems a very pleasant girl with a good voice but I see a very staid and sober personality.

Complete opposite to last years winner who I thought had an almost manic personality in comparison.

I can't warm to her at all and also find her false and I bet once she's away from the TV, she's a snooty girl with a posh accent... The others all seemed more down-to-earth than Lauren, who appears quite professional, calculated and very stage-schoolesque!!

Nine times out of ten when you go to the theatre, you have no idea what the personality of the actor is like, you only see the character they play. It is only in these reality shows that people concern themselves with whether or not they warm to the person behind the character they play, but to me it is totally immaterial.

Plus, of course, the girls are all acting every step of the way - we don't see their true personalities, only what they choose to show us and almost everything they say in front of the camera is rehearsed. If Danielle is so reclusive, why does she choose to show a bubbly side of her personality to the camera every week? Because she's acting it of course!

No.

I think she is really likeable from what I've seen. There's something about her personality that just appeals to me.

Ask me that last week, I would agree with you. But, I am starting to like her now.
The only one I want to warm to but just can't is Sophie.
