Although I don't get much from Lauren's performances I've warmed to pretty much all of them this year, I think it's helped by the fact they all seem to get on well as a group.

I actually am warming to Lauren, perhaps partly because I think she's being misjudged.

She's very talented and professional but I just can't see her as Dorothy.
I so agree with this. She isnt Dorothy. She is too sophisticated and OLD.

I think she has a stunning voice albeit she can tend to shout a bit, but Dorothy she is not.

I just think she is too confident for Dorothy. Dorothy was only 12 years old never left Kansas a very naive girl. No it doesnt work for me.

MIND YOU NON of them work for me LOL perhaps the best candidate was Dani.

I think Lauren suffers from having a pretty neutral (possibly verging on posher) accent. Regional accents always sound friendlier. I have an accent like Lauren's and sometimes when I'm speaking to people, I can hear myself that I come across as a little formal or cold....just because I pronounce my words in a way that makes it sound like that.

To me (in the West Country) she sounds Midlands, though not strongly so. She pronounces words very distinctly which may be something to do with having grown up with hearing problems.

Yes. She's a competent singer, but that's all, and it's not enough. She lacks warmth and what Simon Cowell in his infinite wisdom calls 'the likability factor'. I have no doubt she will find a place in musical theatre, but she does not have what it takes to be Dorothy. More than anything, we the audience have to warm to Dorothy, we have to identify with her and sympathize with her plight. Lauren is elegant and pretty and she can sing, but at the moment she can't do warmth, subtlety, or vulnerability, so she's not right for Dorothy. In time she may acquire some additional skills, but at the moment I say she has a way to go (and I'm not sure that warmth is something you can learn).
Sheila said she was 'vulnerable and broken' in one of her songs.

She's the best singer by miles but may not be right for Dorothy. I think she could play Eponine in Les Mis.
