I wonder who will be the next leading lady ALW looks for in one of these programmes... or are people bored of this format now, with ALW feathering his own nest with the publicity/ticket sales these shows generate?
In one of the Sunday papers today, a TV reviewer wrote:: "I'm done with Dorothy, are you?" I'm OK about Toto but I'm no longer interested in paying for Andrew Lloyd-Webber to find a new star. There's a distinct lack of imagination in BBC Saturday nights.
After Nancy, Joseph and Maria, surely we can find something else to fill the schedules? The trouble with the Dorothys is that they all perform in the same style. The show is not uncovering raw talent, either, or a performer who has been overlooked. Please make this the last of its kind, BBC!"
