Dog walking woes
I have been doing dog walking for people at weekends to make some extra cash until I find a suitable flatmate. Yesterday, I had 2 German Shepherds and a golden lab. Unfortunately, the golden lab somehow got off the lead and ran off and got lost.
I shouted her name (Trina) and looked everywhere for her. By this time it was getting late and I had to be getting her back to her owner. I was walking back down the street and I happened to see another golden lab tied up outside a newsagents. I don't know what came over me, I was desperate, so I stole that dog, and gave her to the owner, and as she is short sighted anyway, she didn't notice. There was only very minor differences, they could almost have been the same dog. She just phoned me in tears asking if I could take the dog out again tonight, because its had diarrhea on her good carpet and shes just paid £90 to get all her carpets cleaned. I tried to explain I had work tonight, but she started to hyperventilate, and next thing the phone clattered and I heard a "thud" on the floor. I rushed over to find her slumped over a chair so I phoned an ambulance, and took the strange golden lab back to my house along with some food. I feel very guilty, that this could have been my fault, and I'm really worried about the old lady. I will keep you posted on her condition. But in the meantime, how can I be sure the dog doesn't diarrhea on my carpets, and any tips for keeping strange dogs? Also, how do I go about finding her lost dog and finding this dogs owner and get them swapped back or at least make sure both parties have a dog, without them knowing whats happened? |

Is this a genuine thread? It all sounds a bit dramatic and unrealistic. Are you practising writing fiction?

Yes, why would I come on here and make up some story?
I see you can get diarrhea tablets for dogs, but can you get them from the supermarket? Its obviously the change in diet. Whats the best food for sensitive stomachs? Saying that, it hasn't had a bowel movement in the last three hours its been here, so it may have been a one off. |

I was only asking for a bit of advice. I don't know what I'm supposed to have done! Next time I won't even bother!
I went back to the old ladies house to collect some other bits and pieces for the dog just now, and she has 2 gay men lodging there, I didn't know she had anyone staying with her. I asked them if they could look after the dog but they work as cabin crew so they are away for long periods at times. I phoned the hospital and asked about the old lady (sorry just don't want to name her on here lol) and she has an overactive thyroid and anxiety, she'll be out tommorow but not sure if she'll be fit enough to look after this dog or not! |

If this story is real - what about the owners of the dog, don't you think they might be searching for it? |

If i was you i would take the dog to the local vet and tell them you found it wandering, it may be micro chipped and this poor dog can be returned to it's rightful owner. In the meantime you could try calling the local Council to see if the dog you lost has been handed in.....and tell the Lady concerned as soon as possible! |

I don't think it is Ray, no where near the entertainment value and certainly lacking his narrative skills.

They wouldn't tell you anything as you're not a relative.
. I'm a bit alarmed by something though. The two lodgers who stay with her offered me a cuppa and a piece of Orkney fudge. While I was sitting drinking my tea, I overheard them talking about the house, and her will, and he jokingly said, "We should make sure we get this house if anything happens to her". It send a shiver down my spine, how anyone could be so disrespectful! Before I left I went to the toilet, and I happened to pass their bedroom. On the dressing table there was 2 boxes of pills, and power lying around them, as if they had been crumbling pills. I thought nothing of it, but now I think back, what if they are grinding those pills into her food to do away with her? Anyway - back on topic, the dog has been sick (outside thankfully) so I'm taking her to the vets tomorrow. |
