Well she could have been Irish. Just like Dorothy could be Scottish, well no.....

I like Danielle,she has a very expressive face and before last week she was defo in my top 3 for Dorothy.I can totally understand why people like her because she has the best look of those remaining for the part.

The fact remains however that bar Mambo Italiano,she hasn't nailed a song with her vocals(some might argue she didn't in that).

On saturday she was average.Outsung by all the other girls which surprised me.In the sing off she was ok but imo Jessica was slightly better.Someone mentioned her acting was better than Jessicas in the singoff.As far as i was concerned they both just stood still,lifted their arms and shrugged a couple of times so i don't understand how she acted the song better.

Danielle may well end up being Dorothy,but she will have to perform much better than Saturday to achieve this.

Danielle normally has appropriate acting for the song, if subtle - I just didnt 'get' Sophie's What a Wonderful World - she seemed upset, not in any kind of wonder. I think there can be sadness in that song, but it has to at least be bittersweet, and I didnt get that from her.

Sophie is not my favourite for the role, but I was one of the few people who really liked her interpretation of What a Wonderful World. She kept it simple and there was 'awe' in her voice, rather than wonder. Ah well, that's the joy of opinion - we all hear and see different things!

I don't have any doubt in my mind that Danielle can do MT. She's young and she still has a lot to learn, but the fundamentals are there. She doesn't have the greatest voice in the competition, granted, but this isn't Pop Idol - other factors come into play. Although I agree with the majority of us that it would have been better to have had more MT staples on the show, so we could truly judge their suitability, I do like the way Danielle has acted the pop songs. On my own is one of my favourite MT songs, have heard it sung by a few different women in Les Miserables, and I think you're right, Sophie's or Jenny's sweet voices would have suited the song perfectly.

I think Danielle usually sounds better in songs where you have to be a bit shouty and fiery maybe? Mambo, America, Just a little girl..

Lauren's voice is too big for this song imo, well it would be on the TV anyway. Her voice rings in my head unpleasantly afterwards when I think back to whatever she's sung.. I suspect she's excellent in a theatre setting though, going by the praise she gets. She has a very strong voice and in an auditorium like this in which you can "feel" the sound as well as hear it, it's probably perfect and sounds rich.

Oh god, yes I loved it too! I was really surprised by the comments. I love the way her accent comes through the song.

This constant instruction to her to "smile more", especially from the "First Lady of the West End" grates on me. I don't see how a fixed rictus grin would have added to the performance. In the Wizard of Oz, when Judy Garland sings Over the Rainbow she's gazing up to the sky the whole way through in wonderment and hardly smiling at all, despite her talking about the wonderful world that lies over the rainbow. You still get the emotion! It'd look twee otherwise.
