I really don't like the new layout of this forum. The text is FAR too small for a start and using purple is never a very good idea.

When you're trawling through endless posts, bold is usually best guys. My eyes seriously beginning to hurt now. Bad move in my opinion.

It's not purple, it's aubergine

(Can't stand it either!)

Off to see what they've done with the Strictly forum....

I hate it ,the font has changed the the letters are too close to each other .

Just as I was getting accustomed to the Strictly pink (I'd go so far as to say I secretly quite liked it) they take it away

Won't be the same now!

I'm find it a little confusing as I use purple to show I've visited a link

I quite like the new font, but I can see how it could be really difficult for people with less than perfect eyesight to read.

It was fine before, bold and incisive.

Now it's more like trying to read a bus ticket in a coal bunker.

I'm relieved it's not just me who dislikes it. I thought there was something wrong with my eyes - they were aching after a short time on here. Oh well, that'll stop me spending too much time on DS.

Me too , got a chicken casserole in the oven and the floor washed while DS was down ,.
If this font lasts I will have a gleaming house and a spotless garden ,

Reminds me of trying to read the small print on a holiday insurance form

My page is still blue but I see some purple text.

My big problem is that it seems to have been done to squeeze even more adverts on the page.

I can't stand the ads with animation and a lot of ads don't fit on the page properly when the page isn't maximised.

Hope they fix things fast.

Blue seems a bit too butch for Strictly!

Abba, I'm only having a laugh but I think your trademark is your full stops and commas that land half a mile away from the words that precede them!

Hey guys don't you think DS site has lost its identity now.

I mean, theyve thrown it on standard template and now it looks like a standard site.

The web designers haven't realised that the old quirky DS site had an identity it felt homely - now it blends with all the other corporate sites.

DS get your money back from the web designers they have missed the mark massively.

AWFUL!

The writing is far too small and the purple colour looks as if they are in mourning for something. On my hospital ward, the shrouds always had a purple edge to them!!

I can understand wanting more room, but why change the colour?

Sid , LOL , my daughter keeps telling me this , to keep away from the space bar !!! Apparently I keep tipping it and my words are " ten feet apart " I am just pleased that in my old age I learned to half type

I hate newness and am in a huffy form now as my glases just wont decipher this awful font .

Yep, text a bit too small for me too.

I expect its to fit in more ads. Which I don't mind but PLEASE stop these targeted ads based on my browsing history. My daughter saw what I'd been looking at for her birthday present the other day, Cheers DS!

Can someone just tell me which bits have changed to purple as my screen still shows mostly blue?

The only purple I have is the thread title and the submit button .Purple is not my issue ,the fact I cant read the script is far more annoying ,I have a headache now from squinting and if I increase the text size its too big and in my face .

Control plus '+' button enlarges the view on most browsers.

The forums have been playing up for months with posts not showing and adverts obscuring what people have written so I don't think you can say they're not broke!

Thanks Abba - just wanted to be sure I was seeing the right thing. Very surprised that a smaller and tighter font has been used, as I would have thought from a Disability Rights POV that would not have been encouraged. It isn't acceptable response to tell someone to use the Control and + keys.

My bug bear is the ads that sit on top of text.
