I was there on Saturday afternoon with the other Flavettes. It was an absolutely fantastic show! I'd made sure that I'd not read any spoilers or reports about it before I went so the whole thing was a surprise from start to finish and I absolutely loved it. I've got tickets for Edinburgh later in the run but wanted to go with the rest of the Flav girls in Birmingham. We all had a fab time!

Can't remember if I said it on the Flav thread yet or not, but it was really lovely to see you again Annie

I'm sure the show was even more spectacular for not being spoiled!

I can't just go once - I've just booked for Southampton

Lovely to see you again too Mystical! One thing that I felt was really lovely about the show was that you could definitely spot the different fan groups around the theatre and it got me thinking about how nice it is that so many of us have made friendships from Strictly.

I'm really glad I have Edinburgh tickets too. I must admit to not telling my co-workers that I was in Birmingham for the show since they all know I'm going in June. Somehow I didn't think they'd quite get that I needed to see it with all the other Flavettes lol.

I'm looking forward to seeing it again whilst knowing what's coming. It was very exciting to see completely unspoiled so now I get a bit of a different view.

Is this confirmed about Darren and Lilia?

Considering they are pretty much the definition of SCD for me and my family that is a great disappointment. And they didn't even get a chance in the past three years to go out on a high.

It's not confirmed, but seeing the tour it's clear they made a big mistake in not doing it - it's clearly BBC-approved and all the pros on it are doing more than enough to keep their jobs

But D&L did the celeb tour. Unlike Vincent & Flavia.

I doubt they would be let go. If they leave it's their choice.

That's not clear at all. It depends what their reasons for saying no were.

No it's not confirmed at all, it was in the NOTW that Anton, Erin, Darren, Lilia, Ian, Aliona and Natalie were at risk. I think it's likely that there will be cuts, but no names will be confirmed for at least a couple of months, unless the pros themselves confirm they have decided not to return.

How come they didn't do it?

Vincent and Flavia? Didn't want to, they had their own projects booked and although the BBC would have wanted them to do the tour, they decided not to. They did the celeb tour last year and did extremely well, they didn't have to do it this year.

And when I said it's clear that Darren, Lilia, Anton, Erin and Brendan made a big mistake, I meant in the sense of missing the opportunity for capitalising on the publicity and rave reviews the current tour is getting, which are substantial.

I doubt they would be let go. If they leave it's their choice.
I disagree, I think it's possible that any of them could be let go, but after seeing the tour I think it's increasingly likely that those pros won't be. Before seeing the tour and the amout of BBC input on it, I did think Aliona and Ian were in danger, but I'm changing my mind on that...

I believe the Celeb tour is not necessarily a BBC "owned" tour but a "franchised" tour which is "owned" by the promoter McIntyre (?). I think the main reasons that Vincent and Flavia did not do the celeb tour was coz Vincent wanted to spend time with his new son, Flavia presumably wanted to spend time with friends and family, and that both of them had already decided to do the pro tour. Also if they had done the celeb tour, who of the other pros would have not been involved...???? (If they had done it, I think its entirely possible that Darren and Lilia would not have done it since I have it on good authority that BOTH Austin and Mark wanted to dance with Flavia).

This is so true, we (the group I met up with) all met up from around the Country, it was a great show and the catalyst to meeting up - but so fab to meet up with the other Guys too

I think D&L are too precious to SCD and having been there for so long would have a close relationship with the producers.

The problem is the producers Darren and Lilia undoubtedly had a close relationship with are not all there anymore, and their lack of Strictly-related work since the new exec was appointed may come back to haunt them. No single dancer or partnership is 'too precious' to the show to be guaranteed a new contract, not even those who have been there the longest...

I think the D&L have done so well with the Latin Fever show they may just want to move to other things

Sad for SCD viewers (I love them both) but they may just need to do something different.

Yes, I guess I can understand that Fliss.

Having both won the glitter ball already, I guess the motivation for Strictly might be waning with each series..

Other adventures lie ahead and I wish them well.
