Is Sunday nights vote off show actually filmed on Saturday straight after the live show? I am wondering if this is the reason the phone lines close on Saturday night instead of Sunday (not including the double vote off weekend of course)

That's right. Both shows are recorded on Saturday night and all votes are cast then too.

Yes and its achieved by having everyone start calling today yesterday for the second half of the show. Sunday's show starts on Saturday after the vote closes.

What looks like a live guest performance is pre-recorded too.

Why they bother to try and mislead people when most know is beyond me.

I know a few people who don't know, and they think i'm some Gypsy woman looking into my crystal ball when they ask me who leaves, it's hilarious!

Then they start asking me for the lottery numbers...

Yes, they film Sunday's show about half an hour after the live show (which is really live - apart from Charlotte singing this week, that bit had been pre-recorded immediately before Saturday's show, still in front of the studio audience, and took 3 takes!)

The panel, ALW & Graham Norton all change their clothes to give the impression it is Sunday. The warm up man jokes to the audience that they all have to swap clothes with the person behind them! Everyone has to remember to say "last night" instead of "earlier" - they do forget sometimes but edit it out of the show.
