I totally would have done the same if I was in that position, I think she's completely right to do so.

She speaks the truth.

Exactly. 100%

I have so much respect for her, you'd rather she's honest than says something lame like "ALW was so nice and right to do this etc.."

Sorry what would you have done the same?

Spoken out over going for not "building a rapport with the dog".

Aha! Sorry wasn't sure what part of the article you were referring to.

Yes - of course she was right. He didn't want her and he made some hilarious excuse.

Re the VT - I actually don't think that did for her. I loved her voice but she lost her sparkle from the earlier eps IMO - she was very TV and pop and not musical theatre in the end. Only my opinion mind!

Good lass! I'm glad she was honest. Hope she does well in the future

I'm sure she also realised that Lauren wipes the floor with her and the 'dog issue' was ALW being nice about it.

I thought Jenny was pretty kind about ALW and if it was me, I'd have said a whole lot more, especially about the judges' constant contradictions!!!!

This message followed the article in the Scotsman::
"Let's be realistic, this has nothing to do with finding unknown talent and everything to do with ugly lloyd webber getting millions worth of free advertising. these supposed talent contests are nothing more than marketing tools for the webbers and the cowells of this world. if you notice most of the "stars" they have found have disappeared due to their astounding lack of any real talent or fan base"

Completely diagree regarding ALW's shows. I was looking just the other day and many of the Marias, Nancys and Josephs have gone on to great things and are still in work today.

You don't say any worse if you want to be taken seriously in the future do you? She got a great gig and did very well - it'll stand her in good stead in the future - to moan and berate is not a good idea so good for her for having the foresight not to bite the hand that could possibly feed her.

Arguably also rans have done better than the winners.

I miss Jenny already and I'm not defending ALW except to say that shows such as OTR do have one major plus: they break the closed loop that often is theatre casting.

Yes they brought one of the West End's disapproving, seen-it-all-before types for the cattle calls but at least he isn't in charge of final casting.

Watching some West End shows (and British telly) you would be excused for thinking there are only 40 people in the whole of Equity.

I really think the whole dog thing is being over-estimated. I basically took that as ALW not wanting to hurt Jenny's feelings by saying either "I dont want you to be Dorothy" or "I think Lauren is far better than you" both of which I think are the real reasons why she went home.

This. I think Jessica in particular went out with totally the right attitude - she was clearly very grateful for going so far, and the whole "im going to go train more" was an excellent way to show her professionalism.

I think some posters on here want to get their facts correct Jenny if I am not wrong won the dog competition on Sunday the fact they did not show it on Saturday says it all. It is all in the edit.

Both winners and 'also rans' have done well. You can't compare 'like for like' career-wise and it's silly to start doing so.

With regard to Jenny, she was up against a far better opponent in the sing-off. Presumably ALW mentioning the dog was a rather poor attempt to let her down gently and not state the obvious.

Of course it's all in the edit but if her "fans" cannot be bothered to vote because of a teeny bit of VT then she was hung anyway.

These competitions aren't fair - they've really never claimed to be - but she didn't get the support and for all the people upset there's thousands more going "meh".

In actual fact more people seem upset with the comments after the vote than the VT before.

None of us actually choose who wins - we only attempt to keep our favourite in (or like me just watch and see what happens).

BTW I'm a Jenny fan but could see her leaving a mile off. Thought Sophie would go first mind.

OK fair enough. I was just bigging up the great platform they get and how loads and loads of them have very successful careers in varied shows without being saddled with the title....

There were two dog competitions. Jenny messed up in the 'acting with the trained dog' challenge (shown on Saturday). She and her dog won the Sunday challenge, but it was the dogs being voted on (by the children in the theatre and the judges), not the Dorothys. ALW's comments referred to the first competition. So he was correct in what he said, but it clearly wasn't the genuine reason for saving Lauren over her (it was actually that Lauren was the better performer in the sing-off and in that evening's solos).

Saddled with what title? If you're referring to the 'TV Casting' tag, then all the contestants have been saddled with that, winners or not. If you're referring to the title of 'winner', I'd hardly say that's something they're saddled with, or unhappy about.

The title is a tad misleading. I was hoping for more violence and swearing.

I'm not on anyone's 'side' here but I doubt we'd like it if ALW was to say exactly why he didn't want to save each of the girls. They'd be more than tears.

God I don't mean to get into a ruckus about this!

I mean imagine telling a female that she reminds you of meatloaf who would ever say that ...

He is not known for holding back he just didn't like her and can't really use that as an excuse so lets make something up.

In my mind it wasn't the whole dog situation it was the voice over that said for everyone else flaws we could work on except Jenny. When ever she did good he was suprised not pleased which sort of says at all.
