I think it's got more to do with the fact that Emilie stayed in when other girls who had more to offer went out. You always position it in terms of them all having strengths and weaknesses and seem to think people are being nasty because they ignored Emilie's strengths. In reality her vocal was so far behind the others' the playing field didn't look like that at all. Having said that, I thought that Emilie had a very engaging presence on stage, looked perfect for the part and was a reasonable actress. However her vocals were very, very poor and for that reason I wouldn't have let her near a musical theatre role.
To be honest, I haven't been particularly impressed with any of the sing offs. Lauren's and Bronte's was probably the best, but compared to the Nancys, these sing offs have been quite disappointing.
Nothing this series has come close to Rachel and Sarah's master class in singing and acting. It still gives me chills. Rachel and Sam's Memory was amazing as well. I love Sam's voice in that. Keisha and Niamh's The Rose was simply beautiful.
