Another interesting one, not been mentioned yet as far as i know.

Amelia = Lamiae
1.
One of a class of fabulous monsters, commonly represented with the head and breast of a woman and the body of a serpent, said to allure youths and children in order to suck their blood.
2.
a vampire; a female demon.

Wait a minute- Amelia Pond? Why that's an anagram of 'Me Oil Panda'!

And if you look carefully, young Amelia has a drawing on her wall of none other than... a panda!

I think we could be on to something with this anagram thing, you know...

It's all a panda plot, I've been saying it all along!

It's also 'I Daemon Pal' by the way.

Or, "Oil me panda" because there's nothing worse than a squeaky panda.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I though t there only has been one significant anagram in the series,

"Mister Saxon", have any other ones happened?

I'm pretty sure the Leadworth one is now justified (what with the next ep being all timey-wimey and that)
I just forget what the anagram was now!
Late dworh?

Torchwood was an intentional anagram of Doctor Who.

And as for the Leadworth anagram, I'll say this again, it references Jeff and his laptop habits clearly- T'whore lad.

It wasn't actually significant or intentional though, as the production team have said it was just a coincidence. Besides there are multiple ways of counting the Masters so saying John Simm was "Master No. Six" is completely arbritary.

Even the intentional anagram of 'Doctor Who / Torchwood' has no actual meaning within the fiction of either show. I don't know why everyone constantly thinks there are "clues" to be found by rearranging the letters of absolutely everything that appears in the programme. There honestly aren't any!

How do you know? Do you write the episodes?

That's the problem with forums, people confidently declare things as if they actually know, when they are actually expressing an opinion.

How many times did we hear things like "Rose is not significant, she won't come back", "Badwolf means nothing, it's an in joke" "River Song is a one off character and will never appear again" etc etc etc.

Anagrams probably mean nothing and people are looking for patterns that don't exist but as yet we don't know. It all adds to the enjoyment of DW, so why knock it?

Have you ever considered that maybe, just maybe the writers sometimes check out the forums and add a few bits in for fun. Afterall the more a series is talked about the more it is publicised.

I am not for one min saying that this happens, but with the great reaction of all the "hidden in plain sight" clues it would be a good angle. Or a very good joke on all of us

Yes, it's just an opinion (I had hoped the smiley I put at the end would make that clear) but it's an opinion based on the fact that of the countless anagrams people have come up with over the last five years, not a single one of them has ever turned out to have any actual meaning within the show.

Not really the same thing, to be honest. Those are elements actually seen in the programme, rather than just made-up wordplay.

Not really knocking it, - if people want to make up anagrams just for the fun of it, fair enough. But it has become a bit silly the way that some posters seem to genuinely think there's significance in every possible anagram. Yes, they *could* come true, but based on the evidence of the last five years I won't hold my breath!
