EE- How thick is Alfie !!!!
I only catch EE in passing as my partner watches it, and to me, it beggars belief that she can actually sit and watch this nonsense, when she could be ironing my shirts or cooking me a nice meal.
Alfie is the manager of a fairly busy EE pub, and must earn at least £20k, he has no accomodation expenses, and only ever eats crisps, so why does he need to get loans from gangsters at 40% interest, and a knee-capping if he can't pay. He could get a personal loan from a leading building society/bank for £7500 over 5 years at 5.6%, which would only be £144.11 per month, and if he pushed the boat out and took 10k he could take that fat orange tart away on holiday or something, and get her off our screens. Sexiest bird in soaps, you're having a laugh.

There was a ridiculous episode, I seem to remember, where he went along to the bank manager, and during the interview the bank manager asked him what collaterol he could offer. As he didn't own his own property he was turned down. I think maybe he didn't have a bank account either.
Eastenders is obivously about 20 years behind the times. |

I think Alfie Moon is the only 'adult' I've ever seen who has no bank account. He hides his money in tins and cupboards, but not banks. And when Kat was trying to get a loan for her father's court case, she was turned down because she had no credit history. Who has NO credit history? You have a good one or a bad one, but a non-existent one?

Although I did read recently that a lot of people who are on social security are having trouble opening bank accounts. They need them for their benefit to be paid into, but banks don't want to take them on because they're unlikely to want loans and credit cards etc and they therefore don't make any money out of them. So I guess it is possible. But Alfie and Kat have jobs, so surely the could get loans? Or if not them some other member of the Slater family, eg Gary. |

Borrowing money is wrong, have you never watched "Little House on The Prairie". That was a big "screw you" to banks.
Why should they make any money out of you whilst they sit on their fat arses all day doing nowt. |

![]() The eps regarding the search for the loan were so tedious that I have blanked out a lot of the - ahem - action, but wasn't one of the reasons Alfie couldn't get a loan was because he'd been 'Inside'? That and a lot of other bollox too of course. The idea that Graham could demand to be paid off in one go was equally ridiculous. It was just an excuse to provide some more gangster fodder with Andy looming over Kat 'menacingly' (about as menacing as a meringue) while twirling his waxed moustache. However desperate you were, you wouldn't borrow money from a loan shark whose fiancee you had just stolen, and who might have a pressing reason to enjoy watching you eat a knuckle sandwich. But this is planet Eastenders, where strange and stupid things happen. All the time. |

what makes it even more daft is that the loan was the way to get Charlie out of prison and out of further trouble, yet the Slaters (except Kat) havent even been asked to help pay. And when Kelly asked if she could stay at the pub, they said no, even though they would have got rent from her.

I have no credit history either, but haven't tried to apply for anything as yet because I don't need loans, credit cards or store cards! I've got a bank account though, obviously
Alfie not having one is completely unrealistic! And as if Kat Slater would have no credit history, the sort of clothes and belongings she has - she looks like a credit card company's idea of heaven! |

I have never seen her with as much makeup on as she wears on the show, she is still really attractive though make up or no! Well she has got something about her or why would everyone be talking about her, could it be a case of all publicity is good publicity i think she is brill and so is Alfie, they should be together forever. i dont like what they have done to Kats character instead of making her into something decent they have gone all the other way, although if it was a case of sleeping with someone who i already have or my husband being killed or crippled i know that i would do the same thing...wouldnt you?

Re: all the slap and fake tan as Jessie, any time she is pictured in any magazine she always has an orange tint as far as I can see. |

i know, that story line is really unbelievable cant believe she actually fell for it but must admit i did feel really sorry for her when alfie showed up with the money.
All the slap and fake tan is a bit too much but without it she looks beautiful, although i can understand why some people dont agree with me. |
