"I've been on enough message boards to see that you can't satisfy Doctor Who fans!"

This looks like it'll be a fantastic episode. I'm really glad they've gone back to the village, and I love the fact they've made it a bit scary.

Reading that interview though...is it just me or does the poor guy sound terrified of the fans? I don't blame him though. There's some right nutters... Pity the poor Who writers these days!

It would be good if Wilf was mentioned at this point. As in 'hey, my last companion was an 80-year-old man!'

I'm hoping it's gonna turn out good this one, though Simon Nye hasn't written anything decent for aaaages. (first series of 'Reggie Perrin' was dire IMO) Saying that, Who is a completely different kettle of fish to what he's used to and so his genius might be revealed.

Yeah it's not a great recent track record. Did he write that show Hardware??

But Men Behaving Badly was undeniably great fun. And that's one more classic sitcom than i've ever written. I think this episode looks gleefully weird and quaint. Two qualities that sit well for me in 'Who. It's not all about adrenal bombast!

Case for the prosecution:-

Pretty young thing

Vicki, Katarina, Polly, Victoria, Zoe, Liz, Jo, Sarah Jane, Leela, Romana, Nyssa, Tegan, Peri, Rose, Martha and Amy. And perhaps, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, also Dodo, Mel and Ace.

Middle-aged bloke

Ian Chesterton, Harry Sullivan, the Brigadier and that's about it.

Chesterton was supposed to be 25 ish in the original brief as mentioned on the documentary on the Edge of Destruction dvd IIRC. Not really middle aged.

Lol yes....lets hope that while writing it he wasn't thinking "Oh I hope the fans who wanted to see a certain story like this or that will love this!" Hope he wrote how he and Moff wanted it.
