I'm just about to get the album now so I'll do a track-by-track review on the album.

Anyone see Katy's T4 album special
I recorded it sat and now watching it Miquita oliver does my head in when she interviews people. She can a bit rude and tends to jump from question to question Katy performs a different arrangement of I kissed a girl, California girls, Teenage dream and peacock. She put on a good mini set and shows improvement of how much of an entertainer she is as well as improvement in her live ability. |

Listening now...
E.T. - I love the futuristic, robotic sound. Imagine what a music video for this would be like! Definitely an instant great tune. 8/10Last Friday Night - it's really good but isn't as great as TD, CG or E.T. 7/10 Firework - love the lyrics and the similies. The chorus is very euphoric. I actually LOVE this! 9/10 Peacock - very 'Hollaback Girl', the lyrics are quite cringe-worthy if the wrong people are around you while listening to it but the melody is great and the euphemism is pretty witty. 7/10Circle The Drain - the verses are okay, it's lyrically similar to 'Ur So Gay' in a way and it's full of attitude and dry humour, very good. 7/10 The One That Got Away - it's a nice sentimental song with a nice concept, a very welcome mid-tempo, I love it. 8/10 Who Am I Living For? - this is definitely a grower and more subtle than the previous tracks, it sounds promising but I haven't connected properly to it. Very 'Thinking of You' in that sense though - which is a huge compliment. 7/10 Pearl - literally beautiful! The lyrics are absolute genius when combined with Katy's delivery! Love how it goes from third person to first person - a reflection of opening up during the song. 10/10 Hummingbird Heartbeat - I found this really funny when it started. It's quite serious and deep though if you think about it. This could have comfortably slotted into OOTB. 7/10Not Like The Movies - I can actually picture GaGa singing this as well as someone singing it in a musical. I really love this - it really shows Katy's vulnerable side. I just love this. Love how "it's just the beginning" is the final line of the album. 9/10 Then obviously: Teenage Dream - love it! 10/10 California Gurls - love it but I've obviously played it to death! 8/10 Album rating: 9/10 |

I fail to see how Circle the drain is remotely lyrically similar to Ur so gay. They are both very lyrically different. But hey, each to their own

![]() Thanks for the review ![]() ![]() I do find 'Pearl' amazing but it's like a ballad so if you're expecting something instantly catchy, don't get you're hopes up. ![]() I love the opening lyric: "She is a pyramid, but with him she's just just a grain of sand". and: "She was a hurricane, but now she's just a gust of wind, she used to set the sails of a thousand ships, was a force to be reckoned with". I remember now that Katy said 'Pearl' is the most personal song on the album. I can definitely see that. |

Can't believe I haven't posted in here before I certainly appreciate Miss Perry!
Got my album on Saturday (Thanks to HMV pre orders!) have been playing it non stop pretty much, I'm addicted, perfect pop ![]() Teenage Dream - Loved it on first listen, never gets boring, just love it, love it, love it, surprisingly this and not Cali Gurls is my soundtrack of the summer. 10 Last Friday Night - Fab! Will become the soundtrack to my girly night outs from now on. LOVE that sax another 10 California Gurls - Perhaps suffering from overplay now, it's still a great summer pop song, that sounds great when the sun is shining 8 Firework - I wasn't immediately taken with this, considering it's many people's highlight but I get it now, very uplifting 8 Peacock - Just fun! puts a smile on my face and very addictive if a little silly 9 Circle The Drain - Hated this on preview but really like it in full 8 The One That Got Away - Aww I love this, it's very simple but cute, reminds you of teenage days9 E.T. - ADORE, most played already, my favourite 10 Who Am I Living For? - Not one I especially keep coming back to, but it's growing on every listen 7 Pearl - Really lovely and Katy sounds pretty good on it, nice lyrics9 Hummingbird Heartbeat - Most addictive, been in my head all day, really reminds me of 80s films for some random reason. Cheesy but I absolutely LOVE it 10 Not Like The Movies - A perfect album closer, not normally a fan of Katy ballads with the exception of the amazing Thinking of You, but really like this8 |

I've just had a thought. Once Katy is married, she'll be Katy Brand - like that comedian.
![]() Btw, I'm still loving 'Pearl'. Has everyone got the album yet? |

Anyone know where the album and single currently are in the mid-weeks?
What I mainly want to know is how close Katy is to overtaking Olly in the singles chart.

Her album is set for number 1 but the song it's self is no where to been seen on the top 40 but they reckon there has been some glitch.

Olly is out-selling Taio (#2, but should be #3) by 2-1 so is definitely not selling loads more than Katy. His physicals are probably non-existent (but then it was Bank Holiday yesterday). |
