If you like Katy & Paramore though, you might like these. VersaEmerge - on the same label as Paramore, with a frontwoman, pretty damn good

Wow i jsut checked them out. have to say i really like them so far.

I found that Kelly clarkson sounded like her on the song anyway. And on the other song that Perry wrote which ended up on her last album.

Long Shot? Source

Interesting that 'Hook Up' was written by her and Kara Diaguardi but I don't think the two have worked together since.

Ooh,thanks. I didn't realise there was a whole other album. I knew of a lot of those songs (The Box is possibly one of my all time favourites) but I thought they were all demos.

And Matt Thiessen, he worked on Ocean Eyes by Owl City. He even does backing vocals on Fireflies.

Practically all of it can be found on the 'One of the Boys' deluxe edition

Sorry to change the sub, but i can't wait to hear her songs with Tedder. I thought she was doing songs with Calvin Harris but she has said "he got too famous" as the reason it never came too

Plus, i find it great that Katy has said that her new single is her own version of "empire state of mind". She came up with the idea while she was celebrating the new year and thought "well if there is a song about new york, why can't there be one about california"

Yeah I think it's really sweet that Katy wanted a song dedicated to California - even if it's shallow in comparison to ESoM.

She did some songs with Ryan? Hope they're not generic ballads a la Battlefield/Already Gone. He's working on "quirky" material with Natasha Bedingfield as well. Seems he is changing/developing his sound.

I'm glad she's not working with Clavin. He appears really arrogant.

I'm loving California Gurls and her debut album which I recently bought. I wonder if she'll debut at #1 in the USA?

Seriously

Now Madonna is a legend, Meryl streep is a legend. But Calvin harris, seriously. Far from a legend. No where near

He may not be a musical legend, but he is up there with Zeus and Hercules and Buddah and Jesus. He's got his face carved on Mount Rushmore mate. Calvin Harris is a legend of life.

Not sure but she has filmed it. Definately at some point in May. I bet her management will want it released this week actually, see if she can get to number one.

Great knockers, looks superfit, hair looks great if I remember correctly.

The music's awful.

I guess I'm old-fashioned. I want guitars, melodies - harmonies can fit in - and lyrics with intelligence and wit.

Perry, like most of her ilk, have a maximum 5 year life span. All Nexus models do.

it has grown on me!
my brother has lost his One Of The Boys album XD haha!! sure it'll turn up somewhere LOL but yeah i think that California Gurls is as good as previous hits really, so if you like them then...yeah! all is good in the world.

there are better songs out there at the moment though but it's a good summer song and think it could be this years equivalent of When love Takes over (only i prefer that Guetta anthem!) but it has that one off #1 feel about it which may or may not work in the albums favor,i think that the album may be as successful as OOTB due to her fanbase being rather culty and stuck together, i mean she has the potential to reach P!nk's standard and success if she markets her next album well.
this is the maker or breaker for her really!! if the album isn't successful then it's a gamble indeed, but if it is i am sure that by the end of the year we'll be seeing about 2 or 3 million copies sold MAXIMUM with promotion and her MTV Movie performance too! i mean Aguilera will be the most anticipated but Perry's performance will be widely seen i am sure, depending entirely on what she performs and how she performs it, if the promo's slack then i can imagine between 500,000 to 1,000,000 copies sold worldwide by the end of the year!

i think One Of The Boys has shipped 4,500,000 WW the last time i checked which is really good for today's standards and she didn't re-release the album either.
