Wow I forgot about this thread and I started it.

Really hyped for Album 3. Hopefully it's a summer album and follows the release strategy of TD - i.e. first single in May/June, second single in late August followed by the album.

Another 'Teenage Dream' (song) is due.

I loved it also, was nice to reminisce the tour but yet I could have cried easily when the crowd all shout "Te Amo Katy"

I must admit, I do keep watching the performance bits and really enjoying it

I've never seen her live but I felt a little bit teary at the Te Amo Katy section mainly because of what had happened off-stage beforehand.

The best bit (if you can use that considering the context) is when she is breakdown and then the lift goes up and she turns on the smile and nails it that is tre performer

I'm a big Katy fan but not a big follower of hers so I was wondering what info we had on the new album?
I know she is releasing an album this year and it is meant to be darker but do we know anything else? I assume it will be a summer/autumn release?

I am hoping she goes down the route of Wide Awake and has sounds similar to that because her last album was incredible.

All we have confirmed is what you said and that she i working with Sia and aimig for a Summer 2013 release I love Wide Awake but i would rather have her mature and expand and move away from the Teenage Dream era she i almost 30 with alot of life experience so for me i wnat to see mature Katy but still retaining her sense of fun

While im not really a massive "fan" of KP....i do think that her third album will be perhaps (what with divorce, her own journey, shes nearly 30) will be her kinda "Like A Prayer" style album...that idea of her saying NO im not just Pop fodder im actually a "real deal" too you know? not like ..."imma recrate it" like a few others have seemed to try and template ...nuff said :P but that kinda approach...as a fan Sia i think will push Katy in that vein too...her We Are Born album very much took on board her Madonna/Prince/Cyndi Lauper influences of teens and pushed them into her own artistic maturity so maybe with Katy she can push her that way??

Im looking to be surprised with what she has to offer and i think we may....Also she has visited Madagascar and the Children there with UNICEF (i think) so she is getting that political/social diplomat side down to a T aswell and hopefully that will motivate her too...so yeah...my two cents and HM i hope you "get" what i mean there too

People always dismissed what i said in regards to placing my bets on Miss. Perry now with others noticing certain shall we say parallels she best not let me down

But for me at the time of say Wide Awake i think then i realised how far she had come and how little effort save for a good campaign strong album it would take for her to oust the competition. In terms of her LAP it's doubtful but her True Blue likely marrying the pop with more mature subject matter and progressing naturally if not all that far from TD

Another thing for me is that she plays this right she's clever thats why i like her so i'm not to worried (and what is wonderfl is most think she is dumb and an airhead). What he should do is not drastically alter in anyway the formula of Td but tweak the sounds make introductions and a concious shift from TD without alienating her fanbase but still managing to grow as an artist she does that plain sailing he doesn't its curtains like gaga.

Maybe your right....i meant kinda like KP entering 30, a time for self analysis and creation a bit but yeah i get that maybe it will be in vein of True Blue...stemming on a serious path but aluding to her previous two albums perhaps.....

Plus i suppose i forget that perhaps if KP branched off with a LAP veined/stemmed album it will be too derivative for contemporary Pop audiences to take on board.....

Exactly JP and part of the issue with BTW is although there are moments that allude to her first two eras the album shifted in a whole other direction which alienated a large percentage of her audiences Katy seeing this happen to Gaga has the blessing of foresight as well as hopefully the material to avoid that

Yeah i just hope that Sia acts like her "Pat Leonard" if you will (obviously not same organic musical relationship but you know what I mean) and draws something we havent seen yet from Katy to influence ehr songwriting and lyrics and delivery etc.

And totally we all learn from missteps and mistakes and everyone else has that advantage of where to head it up next So yeah lets see where its taken.

So true she did work with Glen Ballard previous to a name chnage and signing to Capitiol and the work she did with him there under his guidance was amazing and as far as Juvenilia goes was pretty good so yes lets hope Sia can bring something out in the same way am really excited to see where she goes next

I know mimi but she did no work and it was only an oral agreement and she was paid for the previous work i fail to see what grounds she has its just her word against theirs.

Update she is currently Halfway though the next album and describe it the sessions as ''emotional' to say i am freaking excited its a total understatement i want it now

I'm looking forward to new material. I want OOFTB type music!

I just really want her to progress and move forward whether she goes more pop rock i don't mind but i just wanna hear it see and have it NOW!

I think the album is looking likely to be released in September/October. I really hope there are two singles before the album - so one will hopefully be released in June.

I'm thinking that too she said summer release but i think thats a bit optomistic

Though following the TD era A summer single then pre album single and end of August/September release

Apparently there is going to be a song on her new album called "Double Rainbow"

sounds interesting though only halfway done i thought she would be nearing completing and starting to mix and pick singles.
