Anyone else surprised by the underperformance of Unconditionally people just have not warmed to it at all and it is her lowest charting since Thinking Of You also another of her best ballads

That said the album is doing much better and is holding steady 2 straight months in the top 20 Katy Perry album seller who'd have thought
I know what you mean. I love Katy, PRISM has been on repeat in my car for the last month but that performance of Unconditionally on the X Factor last night was one of her weakest vocals, sadly. I tried to post a link to it for any of you who haven't seen it but the performance isn't on Youtube yet.

I really like the song, but even just listening to it on the album I knew that it would be a very difficult song to sing live.

It's the same issue as with firework she has written a song that is simply way out of her range. She has a good voice she just sometimes does a song or two beyond her capabilities But in terms of the song it's a great Winter ballad shame it has well not just underperformed more or less bombed in the UK .

As for Prism it is a grower. I loved it on first hearing but was somewhat underwhelmed. But it's a transitional album some great pop moments and some more mature sounds a great indicator of where she is going to be going I feel

It is very similar to Firework in that respect. PRISM is the most played album in my car, for sure. I usually have it on shuffle.

I haven't posted in a little while, but I will say I adore the video to Unconditionally. It's great to see an artist still take pride in the videos.

Maybe she should change the arrangement live. And I listened to it to today I think the only thing I would say is some rejigging there is a good 14 track album out of the 16 tracks

Same love love love the video so beautiful

Although I have superficially liked occasional songs from Katy Perry, such as Hot & Cold and Last Friday Night, she has made her best song to date in 2013, namely Roar. It is one of my 10 fave songs of the year!

2013 was a good year for Katy Perry. Here's hoping for another successful year, starting with her PRISMATIC world tour.

Katy Perry confirms the next single!

I think that this song is a bit risky but it seems to be a fan favourite. It's not my favourite on the album but it has grown on me a little bit.

The support acts for the US leg of her tour have been announced - Tegan & Sara. Kacey Musgraves (who Katy's a huge fan of) has also been added to some of the US dates.

The support for the UK leg has yet to be announced. Although I do not yet have tickets I'm still hoping to get some before the tour starts...Somehow. I really like Katy.

Dark Horse up to 2 in the US Charts. It will no doubt be her 9th 1 there soon.

It's rising in the UK too, needs a video, and Brits performance. With those two things should be top 10 here not another U flop

Dark horse is certified silver and is holding steady and has revived the lagging sales of Prism which is rising let's hope it continues .

I've really come to love Prism it's all light and shade, and wistful and dreamy, it's a solid album just a grower is all . But I do get the feeling the first half was the record company second half what she wanted wonder what an album of tracks 9-13 would have been like .

Anyone know when Katy Perry will next be in Nottingham? My sister loves her.

Oh check out my cover of ''all of me'' by John Legend if you get chance

Well 4th single has been announced Birthday. This song has grown hugely on me it's like Kathy Beth when older a great counterpart to the TD era but very much of Prism I think the mainstream will love it .

I associate "Birthday" with "Last Friday Night" too. I wasn't keen on "Birthday" at first but I like it now.

The singles don't seem to have been as big from this album as they were from the last. "Dark Horse" and "Unconditionally" don't seem to have done anything.
