It is a giant market to crack, especially for a song like Bulletproof which is far from your average chart friendly rnb track.

British/Irish acts doing well is now quite common in USA now. Recent people like Leona, jay sean, taio cruz, lily Allen, ting tings, the script, M.I.A, la roux and loads others now have la roux been promoting there?

IFTK is a lot better than Bulletproof, but whatever...
I'd like La Roux a lot more if that Elly would just be quiet for once, she's always bitching about something or other whenever I see an article on her

She's even storming up the billboard 100. Really glad for Elly that she has made the breakthrough in the US after all the touring there. She has really come on in the past year with her live shows as well. Behind the style there is substance, and I am very excited about the new album.

It won't be as commercially successful as the début but that's because it's going to be a less mainstream concept album and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the musical talent from Ben and Elly to seep through. It gives Elly the wonderful opportunity to create something that she wants as she did with the first album.

Also I've heard rumours the quiffs coming off! Apparently her record label are throwing a wobble and in protest she is wearing hats until she gets the go ahead.

With the release of her new album we will see a different La Roux. She'll be able to see who her core fan base are as the I listen to chart music cos I'm cool brigade will disappear!

I agree it's nice to see proper pop music that isn't watered down RnB pop!

glad shes doing well. she's constantly misquoted and made to sound a bitch. been following her progress on her gold tour and the live show's come on amazing since last year infact she's just sold out her uk tour.

im still not a fan of the backing band and her stage outfits need tweaking as she's wearing the same stuff night after night and it gets a bit boring - but maybe i should just not watch youtube

The Rolling Stones cover - Under My Thumb by La Roux is a sure fire hit as well, it's just a case of it getting a release!

I prefer Bulletproof to In For the Kill but both songs are quite distinctive. Both are quite futuristic-sounding and I can understand people who prefer In For the Kill.

Im really glad they are getting some degree of success in the US. La Roux were by far one of my favourite new acts from 2009.

Finally heard this on my local radio station, the DJ described it as sounding like "early GaGa stuff" lol

It's a great song, I knew about La Roux before from these forums but I'm surprised at how well it's doing it's #5 on iTunes. One of the few foreign artists to breakthrough with a solo song without a featured artist. Not only that, the song is not what pop radio typically plays. Good for them.

Well done La Roux, bearing the weight of the cement boots required to trudge laboriously into the upper reaches of the plastic r'n'b/hip hop/Disneypop/'punk' utter trash quagmire that constitutes the US charts.

This is what people don't understand Bullet proof was released in 2009, yet even before it was released in america + radio its getting played in clubs etc. Same can be said with Taio Cruz's - Break Your Heart"

So some people were actually familiar with the tune, and the artist.

NOW! Look even tinie tempah passout tune is getting its play in and around clubs in the US. That will be a a hit aswell.
Tinie Tempah was asked to perform at paris hiltons birthday party LOL
