Tardis sound at the end of The Eleventh Hour

Just had an idea.

When I saw Amelia sitting on her case in the garden and started to hear a Tardis materialise, my first assumption was that it was the Doctor's Tardis, but could it have been someone else's?

Any thoughts?

It's not just the Doctor who leaves the brakes on then?

Not really - the Doc's makes a noise cos he keeps the brakes on (it's now canon, surely)! Everyone else would know to keep them off when materialising...

Previous episodes with other Time Lord's Tardises would suggest they all like that noise.

The dream-Amelia is hearing the TARDIS that is materialising outside real-Amy's window. The Doctor's.

And without a broken chameleon circuit, surely anything could be a different TARDIS. Uh oh

Indeed - even things that appear to be people! Or perhaps people could turn into a TARDIS...

The possibilities are endless.

Am I the only person who thought that the brakes left on thing sounded a bit wrong? The TARDIS is coming to a halt when it materialises, so surely you want the brakes on.

No, she only said she knew how he could fix the circuit. She didn't actually fix it...

And as to the op, I think River's explanation of leaving the brakes on was a generalization on TARDIS dynamics and implies the concept of time travel is not really understood by humans. Thay would explain why other TARDIS make the same noise... Unless, to travel with the 'brakes' on is a little like riding the clutch in a car.... bad practice but common for drivers...
