I've just discovered a mobile PAYG service called Vectone. It is 5p per minute. It seems too good to be true.Does anyone know anything about this service and who does this service "piggy back"? Is it T-Mobile by anychance?

Thanks.

I beleive it is T-Mobile, yes.

The rates were quite low and offered on a trial basis to start, looks like their site says that is the rate going forward though.

They won't be able to sustain that for long, They will be making a loss on some calls.

Vectone are quite a large MVNO, operating in several countries as an MVNO. I did a search on Vectone a few weeks ago when Preston was bombarded with billboard adverts for them all over the place! Their press release says they cater for a mainly ethnic customer base which is probably due to their low international rates.

They appear to be a no frills network though, no mention of mobile internet/data anywhere on their website and the FAQ says this about MMS

"Can I send MMS?
Multi Media messages (MMS) allow you to send pictures and audio such as a video clip or animation. Unfortunately, you cannot currently send MMS when using your Vectone Mobile SIM. We are working hard to bring you this service in the near future."

Does anyone use them? If so, what are your experiences with them like?

My dad has lots of family in Italy and currently uses a different phone with a 3 sim in to make international calls.

I was looking at this package https://www.vectonemobile.co.uk/b/pa...lan/step1.aspx

My dad is 74 so isn't too bothered about 4G at the moment, though 3G is useful for Sat-Nav etc

He currently pays the same per month for a Tesco sim, that has 500 UK mins and 500MB data.
