Charlotte Church criticised over weight

Basically the article is criticising how much weight Char has lost, and how OTR's production team are getting worried apparently.

This article really pisses me off because when CC weighed more she was labelled "fat".

What exactly do they want from her?

I hate this sort of thing. Where are the articles saying ALW should get some "work done" on his eye bags?? if a woman is on TV in any capacity their appearance is scrutinised and criticised endlessly.

Charlotte looks wonderful and she is a good role model for young girls as she is talented and hardworking. She is also a good role model for celebrity mothers as she has managed to keep her children out of the public eye. I think Charlotte is great even if I don't always find her comments on the show helpful (or agree with them). xx

To be fair, unless I have missed them, there haven't been such comments about Sheila Hancock either.

I find the obsession with celebrity weight intensely irritating. I swear I once saw a cover of heat praising some celebrities for not being too thin and then a couple of weeks later they were going on about the same celebrities being fat

Closer are the worst for that. At least half of each issue is taken up with articles about celebrity's weight. On one page they'll criticise someone for being too slim, and on the next page, they'll give weight loss 'tips'.

I hate all these rags, newspapers and mags alike, which put so much pressure on female celebrities as it is.

She is unrecognisable from last year on that photo! I'd say she's lost more than four stone.

I'd actually be more concerned about the 'benders' she's going on especially if she's hardly eating anything.

Against my better judgement I clicked on the link

I love the way that they make absolutely no mention of the fact that during her 'yo-yo battle with her weight' as they call it she was pregnant twice

Honestly, I'm glad my job is never going to put me in the public eye I honestly don't know how some people cope with the constant sniping of the tabloid newspapers about their appearance.

Well, I assume she wants to be a Pop star, how else will she make it work?

They want her, and all other young women, to be miserable whatever weight they are.

Oh FGS I wish they'd leave her alone.

OK, personally I think she'd look better with a few more pounds on but at the end of the day my opinions not worth d**k, it's how SHE feels that counts. She's hardly emaciated is she? Yes she's thinner than she was but maybe she's always wanted to be like this and is now very happy?

I wish they'd get off women's backs. I would really hate to be in their position where every 'imperfection' is circled in womens mags or crowed about in newspapers like the Daily Mail. They're too thin, they're too fat, have they botoxed, haven't they botoxed the list goes on and on. And they're lethal with older women where you're damned if you do get 'help' but also damned if you don't. Honestly, I wouldn't swap places with a woman in the public eye, the scrutiny would probably finish me off!

You cant seem to look at a mag without some criticism of a celebrities weight!.

As another poster put..."Leave the poor girl alone".

Good post, I agree.

I think Charlotte is looking phenomenal at the moment. Though when she is a little larger I still think she's very attractive. Her personality always shines through which helps.

That's stupid, she has two small kids to run around after, it's perfectly normal for a young woman to lose weight when she has kids and is busy.

Newspapers are so stupid - she looks great - I think it would be great to see photos of the news guys who write the articles - they and there families must be so perfect it is a shame to keep them hidden.

I don't know about "dropping 4 stone" but she hardly looked painfully thin in last weeks performance.
I'd kill to have legs and arms like in the "skinney photo"
They are nicely rounded.

I think Charlotte looks great. She certainly isn't skeletal by any means. She is getting married soon and most women get a little obsessed about their bodies in the lead up to their 'big day' and I'm talking women who aren't in the public eye, so god knows what the likes of Charlotte go through when newspapers & magazines are criticising them all the time.

I think she looks fine! She's probably quite short because to me she doesn't look that thin there, she looks healthy! Its a big difference from what she was before but I think she looks a lot better now, she was a little overweight before in my opinion.

This is just a tabloid making a fuss about nothing... I don't see any boneyness, and how do they know what she eats really?

She's a little curvier than me so I would say she looks amazing right now, it obviously took quite a bit of work but I will give her the benefit of the doubt and say she got there the healthy way.

It's depressing... I used to be vaguely interested in a bit of 'who's dating' gossip (not good for the soul, but something to idly chat about when making a coffee) but now all you get is who's looking hot and not.

You'd be hard pushed to think of a proper legend (Marilyn, Audrey, Barbra, take your pick according to taste) who wouldn't be crucified in the modern press.

And I'm significantly (about 2 dress sizes, by my guess) larger than I was 10 years ago, and yet the jeans I buy claim to be the same size?? What exactly are they trying to sell us? Because it's undoubtedly all about selling...
