Unbelievable.

Presently 4.99 gets you up 25MB of data in Europe, per day (its 4.99 for the first 1MB and the next 24Mb are free).
From June 15th, that rises to 25 pounds for 25MB of data a day. Gone is the free part of the allowance and in comes a 5 pound per 5MB charge.

The "rest of the world" roaming fairs just as bad. 14.99/day for 25MB will set you back 75 quid come June 15th!

i think the phrase daylight robbery is over used but FFS

how can we still be paying a pound a megabyte the marginal cost must be a fraction of a penny.

I assume youre aware that this comes on top of a change to the way UK data is billed. Presently if you sneak over the 500MB monthly fair use limit, youre not charged...

Come June 1, you'll incur another 5 quid charge for the next 500MB or 50p per 5MB depending on your tariff.

As said before, revenues are being attacked by regulators, Vodafone will not be the only network to seek to claw that back.

From just less than a year ago

"The roaming rip-off is now coming to an end..

Unless the EU have put up the rate from 85p to £1, it looks as if Vodaphone will be breaking the law by doing this

Although I see vodafones latest tariffs include an element of roaming data in the line rental. Think they are the only ones to do that.

That they definitely do.

I was looking into what data roaming bundles Orange offered for whilst I'm in america in a few months time. From the amount they charge, they're basically trying to say "no, we don't want you to use data overseas".

Or for that matter calls - in the current totally connected world, being charged £1 for a text message or a minute calling is utterly exhorbitant (sp?).

T-Mobile now offer 50mb of data in Europe for £10!

Now I am not pretending that is fabulous value but it is hardly 'through the roof'. Additionally they will not let you go over the amount purchased until you have agreed to buy more 'data' at a fixed price. Excellent service to be honest.
