Like how OTT is this?!?!?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertain...ic/3731861.stm

I mean at an average cost of six euros (£4) each for a fake CD, I'm sure a % of people buying cheap CDs from Greek markets might actually think they are legit. I mean I bought a CD for £2.99 at woolies reasontly.

Perhaps we shouldn't buy CDs at all anymore, don't want to risk 3 months in prison, just incase they are fake .

Seems a bit harsh but to be honest if I bought a CD from soemone selling them on a beach I wouldn't think they would be genuine.

Even so three months in the clink does see somewhat over the top.

It was in the paper a few days ago that a man (who lives near my house) who beat his dog of 8 years to death with a metal pole while on a drink and drugs binge escaped prison and now they are going to give you 3 months for buying a fake CD?

What a joke.

It's ridiculous. why are music fans singled out like this? If you go to a market stall and buy a pair of jeans and they are fake, they prosecute the seller, not the buyer...dont they?.

Well I'd have my doubts, and you would, be I'd entertain that some less clued up people wouldn't. Say some granny, not knowledgeable about the current price of new albums (afterall they did cost about a fiver full price, about 20 or more years ago), buying little johnny a holiday present.
