I am unable to copy from a DVD (of my own camcorder material/recorded SD programmes) from a DVD to the HDD. I wish to do this so I can run off 2 copies of old camcorder footage to DVD from the HDD). I have had no problems copying material from the HDD to DVD. I am sure that I have followed all the correct procedures. All I get is the menu appearing when I play it back off the HDD and moving the arrows/pressing PLAY/OK has no response.

Manual says that this can be done. I am using DVD-R blanks. Anyone else had this problem or can help?

So, the readership of my post mounts up and still nobody has replied. Does this mean that nobody has the Panasonic Freesat recorders?

It would be nice to know that other people have/don't have this problem. At least I would then know whether my machine is faulty or if Panasonic have a software problem.

I can't comment on the Panasonic, as I've never seen one, but home recorded DVD's are often troublesome in other machines - there seems a bewildering array of slightly different systems, that don't playback in everything.

I've just had to dismantle a Sony DVD/VCR recorder to remove a disc sent over from Brazil - the disc is so incompatible that it won't even let you eject the disc. This isn't uncommon, on all kinds of DVD recorders.

I would have thought the easiest way to copy a home made DVD is with a computer.

I have never had any problems doing so using Nero or even the built in software that comes with Windows.

Try using a different make of DVD-R because I have had problems with ADSA own disc or at least a batch of disc’s.
