Dr Who sound issue on BBC HD
Was it just me or was the sound really bad on Dr Who last night on BBC HD.
The incidental music was fine but the speech was awful. It sounded like they were talking through funnels! That's the only way I can desribe it. Totally ruined the programme. Graham. |

I found the actual audio astounding clear in DD5.1. In fact if anything I found the balance to be light in the mid-range (which is accented by my old AV amp also having this characteristic). The continuity announcer at the end was really faint though. But I thought the sound on The Prisoner sounded very peculiar in parts (especially the intro scenes).

Agreed, I just watched it tonight and the sound was awful, although it did seem to get better towards the end.
I actually thought it was my SKY HD box, but it wasnt. Glad to see it wasnt just me. |

I too thought the DD 5.1 sound was OK & that the continuity announcer's voice at the end was very faint. I am glad that the latter was observed by others & that clearly it was a BBC problem as I had been contemplating re-doing my speaker balance.
