Hope there will be another series

I will really miss this series. I must admit I was a bit dubious about the Wizard of Oz but am now getting quite excited about the prospect and regardless of who wins next week will be taking my daughter for her introduction to the world of the West End musical next year.

Does anyone know whether ALW will do any more series and what show is likely to be featured next? I watched "Calamity Jane" yesterday and thought what a good show this would make (could even be looking for a Jane and a Wild Bill!). You can imagine the exit lines:

"Who will be the dead wood tonight? What a calamity you are not Jane!"

Any other ideas about shows or does anyone have any insider information about another series.

Good luck to the three remaining girls next week. This series has introduced us to many new talents who I am sure will be gracing the West End for many years to come. Thank you all for bringing us so much fun on a Saturday evening.

Well, if we're talking about revivals, there's a whole gamut of them from the first half of the twentieth century.

All the Ivor Novello shows - Glamorous Night, Perchance to Dream (I LOVE the music from that one), The Dancing Years, King's Rhapsody etc...

Then there are the other ones I remember playing the records of when I was a kid, I loved the music of The Desert Song, Chu Chin Chow, Salad Days, Mack and Mabel (I didn't get to see the one that closed a few years ago), Camelot.

That said, the story and music to Perchance to Dream is wonderful. Dunno if it would be right for today's audiences though.

Another one I'd love to see in the West End again would be Poppy, that the Royal Shakespeare Company did - it's a pantomime with a difference, ALW could do a Christmas Special with it .

I'd love to see them revive 'West Side Story' - they could do a search for both male and female leads.

I had heard rumours about 'My fair lady' but I think they want to find another male role first before another female casting show.

On a previous thread there were similar conversations........one was about Jesus Christ Superstar but it was decided it wouldnt sound good saying 'you could still be Jesus'

Me too.

I've not been as absorbed by a reality contest as much as this one for ages.

I like the panel, I think the standard of the girls has been high, the sing off and send off is always an emotional affair. Everything just works.
