Which one?
Both have a chance anyway, just need to wait and see what ABC say. Their upfront presentation is in 3 hours in New York, someone might say something there. It's such a god damn funny show and american comedy is more often miss than hit for me... *EDIT* Probably a bit much to hope that in 3 hours a deal will be made to bring Christine to the "alphabet" network? |

I wouldn't call it dreadful, as whilst BGT may suffer a little, it would bolster the schedule overall, and it would easily overcome EastEnders, or they could easily move everything 30 minutes later on Monday and Friday if they don't want BGT to be dented. I think the audience would come back for the results, as that's when the shows were peaking last year, and I heard they're having big name guests on this year, which could boost it. I presume they're hoping it'll give Coronation Street a long-term boost for the Summer.
I don't think it makes much sense to dent BGT over 90 minutes (a show which sells spots at a higher price per viewer than Corrie) just to try and prop up Corrie for 30 minutes. For every viewer BGT loses, Corrie needs to gain 3 to make this worthwhile (so lets say BGT loses 1.5m on average over the 90 minutes - Corrie would need to add 4.5m). And they're also going to have gaps at 7.30pm dragging down their primetime share. |

ITV realy should have gone BGT 8-9.10 Corrie 9.10-9.40 and BGT results 9.40-10.10. Pushing the news at 10 until 22:10. This way they could squeeze 4 sets of adverts into the first BGT. People wont want to move to another station 10 minutes into the hour and News at Ten will avoid BBC News hopefuly giving it a boost.

I think 6 nights of expecting people to go away for 30 minutes then come back at 9.30pm is too much to ask and gives competitors an easy ride by allowing them to draw in viewers at 9pm. Many will switch off at 9pm and not come back. Also, the BGT results are rarely interesting or tense affairs last year, usually done in 15 minutes.

If they're going to pick up either of them, they don't have long to do it. |

BGT will be 8pm start time for Tuesday - Friday shows...
I would imagine it will wipe out Eastenders. However, I expect Eastenders on BBC Three at 10pm to improve - albeit up against More Talent on ITV2... |

It will be interesting to see if BBC move EastEnders to counter attack it. Mind you, from the initial spoilers I've seen, that week of EE seems horrid. |

The CW renews Life Unexpected (yes!) and One Tree Hill. They pick up Nikita and Hellcats Quote:
NIKITA stars international action-film star and martial arts expert Maggie Q (“Mission Impossible III”) in the title role as a spy and assassin for a top secret U.S. government agency, who rebels against the system that created her and will stop at nothing to bring their powerful operation to an end.
Quote:
HELLCATS is a coming-of-age drama about a you pre-law student (Aly Michalka, “Bandslam”) whose world is turned upside-down when she loses her scholarship and has to join the college’s competitive cheerleading squad. This fun, energetic series is a behind-the-scenes look at the drama, politics and pressure surrounding the high school football program at a Southern university.

Just a thought - is BGT week also the week of Corrie's big Tony storyline? I read the stunt was the most expensive in the show's history.

well that is all of the CWs fall season hours filled, like CBS, its now just a case of what goes where.
Seems a safe bet Melrose Place has been axed. |

I'm pretty sure it is, so it'll probably be billed as a week of huge events or something along those lines (and more catchy).

Yes, it is. Hence why I said at first it was scheduling genius because of the big storyline...
![]() And if that is the case then I agree it makes sense to schedule it that way. I'd have agreed with C14E if it was just an ordinary week but it is a pretty big week for the show that they've been banging on about for ages... |

More on the situation with the cancelled CBS shows. ______________________ Nikita seems to have been the frontrunner for The CW for months so that's no surprise. It's quite a step out from what they have been doing but changing direction worked well for them last year with The Vampire Diaries. Hellcats I'm less sure of. One review I read of the pilot script was particularly scathing and said the whole plot is almost identical to that of Glee but not as funny. I think there could be a show there and Ashley Tisdale could be a draw, but not if it's too much of a rip-off. http://travisyanan.blogspot.com/2010...-hellcats.html |

I don't think that would be possible due to the 'Children not allowed on TV after 10pm' rule.

Does BGT really need half an hour for the result? It's not like TXF where there's a sing off.
