Yes, that'll be awkward and would obviously have worked better as a standalone episode but they've done well really - they'll be back in sync by next Friday.

Understandable decision. It's a pity that mess up with the continuity announcer happened earlier.

I hope though that the episodes aren't edited too heavily but I'm expecting it now to be honest.

i expect that what was suppose to be Monday's must be straight after the explosion, rather than being the next day, otherwise i think they would have seperated them.

8 episodes of Corrie next week then.

Assuming Father & Son does well, next week should be a strong week for ITV.

Waterloo Road will indeed be effected again, but the BBC are to blame for most of that themselves.

Yeah they have. I'm surprised they bumped Florida: Paradise Lost over Millionaire, but I presume that'll slot in on Friday at 9pm instead of the Taggart repeat.

I hope Father and Son does well as it looks brilliant. It does look a bit bleak and 'worthy' though, which may put some viewers off.

As for Waterloo Road, I completely agree that it's the BBC's fault, but I do feel sorry for those involved in making and producing it, particularly as this could all have been avoided had these episodes aired at the start of the year as they were supposed to.

Florida: Paradise Lost is just filler and can easily be rescheduled at a later date.

Waterloo Road and Coronation Street last clashed on 2nd December 2009 both starting at 8pm. The result was Corrie 8.5m (36.0%), with Waterloo Road on 3.83m (16%).

This time round Waterloo Road has an Eastenders lead-in and Coronation Street won't be in any TV Guides. ITV will have to really advertise the explosion in Wednesday's episode.

True, but it's filler that would rate better than Millionaire (the Spain one did well last year). In fairness to ITV though, they've done a pretty good job in a difficult situation.

Interesting scheduling changes-personally I would have preferred 90 minutes of Corrie on the Monday making more of an event of it then it would also be in sync, instead of airing the climax to seige week and Mondays episode together.

However ITV didn't have that many options, because it was crucial they were caught up before the start of the World Cup, due to a world cup story in Corrie and the fact that a lot of episodes are to be missed already.

BBC and ITV have together destroyed the second half of this series of Waterloo Road-twice it has been pulled for Holby City meaning it won't be finished in time for World Cup, it is now going up against 2 of ITV's biggest shows and ITV's biggest Corrie episode of the year.

ITV need to promote heavily that Wednesday 8pm features the climax to seige week because it is an abnormal slot, up against tougher than normal competition and the episode was the most expensive ever-taking the latter into consideration I'm very surprised at the last episode scheduling.

so ITV said it was going to be on air tonight, and now have not shown it?

Also I thought these episodes would require a post watershed timeslot.

No sign of CSI Miami in Fives advanced listing, guess they are waiting for the World Cup to end

The 7pm Project reaching 1.1m in Australia last night and winning the slot - a lesson in how not taking a knee-jerk reacton can benefit a network as the show could easily have been axed in it's first few weeks on air around a year ago considering it didn't exactly set ratings alight.

I would think CSI:Miami is definitely being held back. It would seem FIVE are protecting the US dramas lately by moving them out of tough competition (FlashForward moved out of the way of Corrie/BGT) and next week The Mentalist is being moved out of the way of the England match to 10pm which is very wise.

Given the weather today, I won't be surprised to see Britain's Got Talent possibly over a 50% share, but with audience about ~10m.

If they've got any sense they'll put end credits on the first episode but still advertise the 8.30pm episode. Most viewers will realise what is going on anyway.

It isn't an ideal situation, but then there was never going to be one in this situation.

Kris Green has confirmed the episodes next week will air as they would have done - no re-shots or re-edits. Which proves that the episodes were never moved because of their content.

That's good. I'll finally get to see how the series ends.

When will LOST return to FTA television I wonder?

its been a couple of years since Prison Break ended, so I would no expect Lost to be on Sky 3 till about 2013, if Sky 3 is still around then.

I live in Cumbria, not far from where the murders took place, and to show those Coronation St episodes would have caused uproar locally and even at a national level would cause thousands of complaints. I know some on here seem more concerned about the harm it's done to ITV' s ratings, but at the end of the day showing these episodes could have led to some people boycotting the soap forever in the same way no one in Liverpool buys The Sun.
However, I'm sure as a tonic to this awful week, millions will still tune into BGT and I still reckon on 14 million for the final.
