It looks like the BBC have bizarrely replaced Waterloo Road with a repeat of Inspector Lynley Mysteries on Wednesday 23rd June. There is an hour long Eastenders scheduled in the 7pm slot beforehand. Waterloo Road is off air next week as it is, so it could be taking another 2 week break. I hope this is a scheduling game or typo of some sort.
Also Holby City is completely absent from that week - I thought it had been on the Friday previously but now it has a George Gently repeat there.

EastEnders could hold up against the worldcup games(they have in the past')
im not sure Waterloo road would do that well so maybe it's best to rest it for a few weeks

I think Waterloo Road would be OK against the World Cup. It has been airing against the Champions League this series and been fine. One thing I did notice though, is that if it hadn't been taken off air for Holby City last month then the final episodes of the series, with a lot of main characters leaving, would of been against Britain's Got Talent and Coronation Street.
This is how the series has done so far this run in overnights including HD viewers. The first 10 eps aired last Autumn.
ep11: 4.46m (18.2%) vs Manchester Utd/Bayern Munich - 7.54m (30.6%).
ep12: 4.34m (18.9%) vs Midsomer Murders - 4.94m (21%)

When TV-am started in 1983 the 6am to 7am slot was called Daybreak (then 7am to 9.25am was Good Morning Britain).
So 27 years later we're back where we started!
Angela Rippon was one of the original presenters - maybe they could get her back as well(!)

I would have pulled the siege episodes completely and just gone with the aftermath.
Still 13m viewers will have watched it with it being a big stunt and the most expensive episodes for years so ITV will have got their money's worth, if nothing else.

The first few weeks of TV-AM were excellent, intelligent TV. Very similar to its US counterparts.
However, the viewers preferred the more low brow BBC Breakfast Time and TV-AM went even more low brow and the rest is history.
They also used the US break system with ads every ten minutes (albeit only one minute long), which alienated viewers, who were then only used to three breaks per hour on ITV.

-ITV4 did a pilot a couple of months ago called Jason Byrne's Beer and Pizza Club. Looks like it's been given a full series and moved to ITV1, with Richard Bacon replacing Jason Byrne, as it's recording on five dates in July and it mentions it being 'prime time ITV1 entertainment'.
-Stephen Mulhern's new series Magic Numbers is going to be live on Saturday nights throughout the Summer on ITV1, presumably starting on Saturday 24th July and running for six weeks (as haven't they got that football special event thing on the 17th?).

1. Best slot Don't Stop Believing could have got imo-I've always said if FIVE try a big entertainment format it should be on Sundays because when XF/DOI aren't on there isn't much in the way of entertainment. Although looking at FIVE's recent entertainment flops it could go the same way..
2. I was starting to wonder what would be on ITV Saturdays after the World Cup finishes. It appears ITV aren't launching ANY new shows whilst the World Cup itself is on as they just seem to be filling non football slots by either Midsomer or Taggart repeats.
I really have my fingers crossed for FIVE and Don't Stop Believing. Sky1 have had success there on Sunday nights with Got To Dance in a slightly earlier timeslot.

I quite liked SBS when I was there.
Ten and Seven seemed the best channels. Home and Away (which I got hooked on for some reason... I never watch it, or any soap here), Masterchef, Australia's Got Talent (with Brain McFadden and Dannii Minogue
).But generally, Australian TV is crap, their product placement, especially in morning magazine shows is dreadfully crude and tacky. Absolutely nothing on after 10pm. Their news is so sensationalist it's hilarious at times.

Big Brother doesn't peak much higher than its average, but as long as it isn't 4.7m (lowest live launch ever) then its a success, assuming the 5.7m peak is without +1.
I don't think its a little disappointing, I think its quite a success given that CBB7 ended with 4.7m and the absolute disaster that was BB10 where the final was watched by 3.1m. The real test and indication comes in tonights rating.

Probably for the best as I was surprised when I read it as it doesn't sound very-ITV1 at all and would probably have bombed. I wonder if ITV1 will commission a full series of that panel show they piloted a couple of months back, They Drink It In The Congo. ITV1 haven't had a panel show for a long time, although they've got one this Summer in Odd One In.
