SBS can't be that bad, surely.

I suppose there isn't much of an audience for foreign language programming.

Well even though BB is lower than expected, it got the highest non soap rating from yesterday.
And the Apprentice was tough competition.(it just got 100k higher than when it clashed with BGT)

First "solid" for BB this series. I get the feeling we'll be hearing a lot more from that adjective.

Junior Apprentice held up rather well. Probably only 500k behind BB if you exclude +1.

According to The Sun, Pineapple Dance Studios has been axed by $ky:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...ed-by-Sky.html

Not surprised. The ratings were terrible. Even Harry Hill couldn't turn them around!

Article also hints that the BBC want one of its stars, Louie Spence, to become a So You Think You Can Dance judge.

Good for BBC1 up until 8pm-EE held up well despite a change in slot and it seems there is a definite appetite for a soap 7.30pm on Wednesdays.

Waterloo Road suffers its 2nd lowest ever performance, which I'm not surprised about, but it's a shame. It's now taking another 2 week break before airing the last 2 episodes in which 3 long standing characters are leaving. I think the series has been losing momentum ever since the break after the first 10 episodes. This series has now encountered 3 seperate breaks of multiple weeks, so no wonder the ratings are suffering because of it.

JA is also struggling to build up momentum, but that's mainly due to the really tough competition it's been up against.

Solid result for Corrie, all things considered. Very little advertising from ITV, and understandably the daily Siege Week adverts they aired on Mon/Tues last week have disappeared for these last 3 episodes. AFAIK the only advertising was a quick announcement at the end of Mondays episode and a schedule change announcement at the end of yesterdays Emmerdale.

Pretty poor for BB I think-considering the hype I expected more. I think this could be the series where people really do give up, before the show gains viewers in its final 2 weeks.

NCIS is appearing to be more resiliant than it was earlier in the series and 2m is a great rating against tough drama/reality competition.

Shocked at the Coronation Street ratings. I was expecting double figures for such massively hyped episodes.

I think it's just been really, really, unlucky as far as scheduling goes, thanks mostly to the election.

Deserves a second shot.

Perhaps run normal Apprentice Mar-May, Junior Apprentice Oct-Nov.

Really?!

The more I think about it, the better the ratings seem.

1. Even normal episodes of Corrie are not up against a young skewing BBC1 drama and brand new CDWM.
2. Corrie hasn't had a permanent slot on Wednesdays since last year, and even then it wasn't at 8pm.
3. Yes they may have been hyped, but were they advertised as airing on Wednesday at 8pm??
4. None of the already published TV magazines advertised Corrie as airing at 8pm yesterday. All of them had the originally scheduled Florirda:Paradise Lost.
5. Both of yesterdays episodes performed better than Thursdays/Fridays episodes have been performing lately.

is a shame if it's true!
Although there have been many newspaper reports about it - this does seem the most genuine - whether the quotes are from her I don't know!
The only thing that is suggesting she'll leave to go to GMTV is her parting company with her agent.

Also (from a very relaible source ) the new name for GMTV will be "Daybreak."”

The GMTV relaunch is already heading for disaster by having Adrian, the choice of which isn't going down well at all. Both of them will just be too much.

The choice of him to front ITV's football coverage is going down quite well however.

Thats because he did MOTD2 on which he was very good at and is popular amongst male viewers. You can't really say the same audience will take a vested interest in GMTV.

Personally I really hope it fails - they don't deserve to get success off the back of someone elses success, and actually I'd be surprised if it got any more viewers than Glee itself.

Talking of Glee, for the first time since the Madonna episode E4 have been able to do a proper promo for the finale, so hopefully that should ensure it goes out on a high.

P.S. Charlie Brooker and Konnie Huq - didn't see that one coming! It's like Johnny Rotten marrying Vera Lyn!

Waterloo Road is off air next week as it is, so it could be taking another 2 week break. I hope this is a scheduling game or typo of some sort.

Also Holby City is completely absent from that week - I thought it had been on the Friday previously but now it has a George Gently repeat there.”

More ammo to my long held suspicion that, soaps aside, part of the BBC/ITV agreement for World Cup matches, is to make the non-football alternative as unappealing as possible.

Totally disagree with your stance on this.

C4 missed the opportunity, that's their problem. Five spotted it and went for it.

It's hardly cashing in on someone else's success. Glee is only an import anyway.

Are you sure it's only going to be a two-week break? Might be longer!

I notice Jay Hunt's Daytime into Primetime BBC One campaign is continuing the week after next, with a Monday 8pm re-edit of daytime series Fake Britain.

The two bold figures are including Channel 4+1, they got 5.1m and 4.7m respectively.

Series 2 launched on a Saturday with a highlights show. The first live launch show didn't happen until BB3.

So basically it was the lowest rated live launch ever.

Ouch.

Just about what I expected for BB, 5.1 million, same as last year.
However, Corrie not the all conquering show ITV hoped it would be. Just shows that sandwiched between Waterloo Rd and a topical, youthful CDWM it wouldn't do so well. Obviously the demographics suggest that Coronation St is an older show.

Only by a small margin, and when you consider how low the ratings went last year, being back to square one in the same position as last year is not a bad thing. It could have done a lot worse

Ah OK thanks - bit confusing of Broadcast to do that. I've updated the post accordingly.
