I see what you mean. I wonder why, and how they all managed to come up with this 'idea' coincidently at the same time.

By the way, just wondering, i know there may not b a lot of Scottish viewers that look at this thread but does anyone have 'The Scheme' ratings from tues night bbc one?

I'm desperate to find out! I'm sure it was a ratings hit even for the late night airing it got! Any ratings for this would be greatly appreciated.

Do we know yet if More Talent will have a show at 9pm during the live shows, or just something at 10pm. Having half an hour at 9pm would really benefit them as they can then feature the younger acts who are banned from the shows after 10pm.

Poor for Junior Apprentice last night. Like others have said, I really don't know why its so low. Granted, I was sceptical at first too, but watching the programme - its almost identical to the normal series. There's less publicity around it in the papers and radio circuits, I suppose, but I still thought it would be good for a steady 5m.

Holby also seems to struggle on Wednesdays, even if its scheduled in advance! You know somethings a little wrong for BBC One, when DIY SOS is their top non-news programme of the night. The One Show had a very good share though, incidentally. Proof, if it were needed, that the strength of that show lies in the format rather than any particular presenters.

BSA's had a very solid night for ITV1.

The CW as boring as I thought it would be.

I'm surprised at the Junior Apprentice ratings, too. I can't envisage the figures picking up now.

i thought the soap awards might rate lower due to them being on over a week after they were filmed? imagin the audience if it was live!

I'm really shocked by how low the figure is for Junior Apprentice. A normal series rates around 8m so I was expecting at least 5m for this 'Junior' series. It's really entertaining. I imagine it will sink even lower when up against the BGT finals in a couple of weeks time though.

I'm shocked at how high the soap awards were really-after watching last night I thought they'd be even lower than my prediction (4.6m), because of the sheer tackiness and dragged out segments. It also didn't have a Corrie lead in like last year.

BBC1 was much lower than I expected-I thought both Holby and JA would be nearer 5m. I think Holby on Wednesdays shows that if Waterloo Road and Holby were switched around then the figures for both would switch around. Really surprised at how low JA was though, considering the main one was getting 8m up against the soap awards last year!

Also noticed that BBC1's hard time in the 9pm slots lately seem to have boosted NaT slightly on ITV1.

FIVE need to drop JLC now...what a waste of money he is.

I'm guessing everything will be considerably down tonight, due to the weather.

How stupid. They might want to protect Corrie a bit but frankly Corrie doesn't need it - and they could always give the repeat airing a fixed time for that week immediately after the 10pm edition of More Talent (so either 10.30pm or 11pm) - and heck they might discover that when it's not airing at 1am in the morning people actually will watch the repeat screening.


What were they thinking - three shows, three flops. They really might as well stick him on Live from Studip Five and be done with it.

Poor night for all except for The Soap Awards, looks like that it dented a lot of the surrounding channels.... Junior Apprentice should defenitley be hitting 5m+ in my opinion. The "juniour" is putting people off.

I see they are trying to get as many people watching the Million Drop thing with Davina on Monday at 10pm.... newspapers are picking up on a new ad being aired about abortions at 10:10pm in the middle of the new show, so people tune into the new game show. Very clever, probably wont work. I doubt it will ever be as big as BB.

Since E4 went HD, we catch the episodes first on there, Glee likewise.

I agree, every project he has done has flopped but it's a two year deal so unless they cut the deal short, they have to keep him for another year.

With the upfronts now complete and The LA Screenings about to commence, it will be interesting what shows are picked up by the UK Broadcasters.

Regarding The CW schedule, pairing One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected was a good idea as is pairing Gossip Girl and 90210 and reuniting Smallville and Supernatural, Nikita looks good but I'm not sure on Hellcats.

Really that would be grate and is a good time to watch for me.

Really surprising ratings last night... The Soap Awards were much much higher than I expected and Junior Apprentice too low.

I really can't understand why JA isn't catching on. It's just as watchable as the regular series, if not more so. I thought word-of-mouth, iPlayer, etc might boost it this week but no such luck.

It really does seem to me that the Beeb are having a dire time of it at the moment at 9pm. And with ITV about to up the ante again, I can't see the situation improving much over the next 2-3 weeks, indeed it's likely to get even worse.

If they have to keep him for the next year then I'd say try another entertainment format, without his flipping name in the title. I know Heads or Tails didn't have his name in it, but that was in an awful slot and actually did the best out of the 3 shows he's done for FIVE.

I feel sorry for Five. I'm not a fan of JLC but even I wouldn't have expected his shows to flop this badly. I wonder if they had put out the exact same shows but with Alan Carr as host, would they have been a success?

I agree with you, if they can't get out of the contract then they should give him some projects which aren't based entirely around him. That clearly isn't working as he's not popular enough.

I may be in love with Sky1 right now.

I've always thought Alan was the stronger of the two on the Friday/Sunday Night Project but they work really well together, Alan's first solo project wasn't great but Chattyman was.

The BBC struggled to find Graham Norton a vehicle but hit gold with the musical theatre shows plus a chatshow.

The weather for BGT week at the moment looks dire. Cloudy and wet at times with cool northerly/northeasterly winds (ash cloud could make a comeback) and temps no higher than about 15C all week, with single figure maxima in Scotland.

However, two weeks is a long time in the world of weather. It could change.
