Not sure if it can react so quickly but the Lottery show was about as dramatic as it has ever been.

As we've just revamped the site, I wondered whether you could give us any suggestions of improving our UK/US ratings reports?

"Ice cream weather" on the way next week, with temps into the low 20s by Wednesday as high pressure establishes over the UK.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-sto...5875-22259781/ The soaps are going to have another bad week I feel! Did someone say Hollyoaks had a big storyline planned? ![]() Not so sure on Hollyoaks though |

NBCs offical announcement didnt really add anything to the schedule, a shame there is still alot of the new shows, with no place other than "the midsection schedule" nothing more exact than that.
Guess we wait for Fox now. |

They need to give the revamp a chance. Indeed it would be pretty short sighted to pull Hollyoaks now when there is every chance it can recover if not within months, within a couple of years. Indeed I'm sure if the BBC and ITV had been more knee jerk in reacting to periods of decline in the big three soaps all three would have been pulled at some point in the last 10-15 years.

Interesting that Undercovers is on Wednesdays, if it were me I would out on Mondays and save Chuck for midseason. Wednesday 8pm is quite weak so I can see why NBC scheduled it there but I can see CBS or FOX put an existing hit show there as a spoiler.
Law and Order: LA at 10pm is interesting though SVU is going to get killed not only by Criminal Minds but Modern Family as well. I'd have had: Mondays: Chuck, The Event & LOLA Tuesdays: The Biggest Loser & Love Bites Wednesdays: Parenthood, Undercovers & Chase Thursdays: Community, 30 Rock, The Office, Outsourced & L&O:SVU Midseason: Harry's Law - Tuesdays 10pm Relationship comedies - Wednesday 8pm The Cape - Monday 8 or 9pm (depends what does best in fall) Parenthood does OK at 10pm on Tuesdays but nothing special. Love Bites seems likely to skew quite heavily female like The Biggest Loser. Wednesdays would have their two most likely to succeed series, Undercovers and Chase. Having done well against CSI: NY at 10pm, both L&O series would be put opposite the other CSI brands. |

Any guesses where the new NBC series will go?
The Event LOLA Love Bites Undercovers Chase Outsourced Outlaw I'm thinking Chase might head to Five and Sky1 could go after Undercovers. Aside from that, I'm not sure any UK broadcasters will be jumping at any of those shows before they establish themselves on US TV. Though I'm sure Sci-fi channel will be keeping an eye on The Event. I think we'll see clips of the shows tomorrow when NBC actually has its proper upfront presentation and Angela Bromstad did say they hoped to have more to show this year. |

SVU wasn't doing too well at 9pm on Wednesdays earlier this season so I'm not sure it's the best idea for next year.
Meanwhile, Access Hollywood reports that ABC has renewed Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. (Link: http://www.accesshollywood.com/abc-r..._article_32363) |

Well, Wednesday at 9pm is far better than Thursday 10pm, imo. It would have been beaten heavily by both The Mentalist on CBS and Private Practice on ABC (both, I think will remain in the same time-slot next season).

LOLA - FIVE Love Bites - Channel 4/E4 Undercovers - Sky1/FX Chase - FIVE/Sky1 Outsourced - no-one, possibly E4 if they really wanted it. Outlaw - Hallmark My opinions on the clips: The Event looks amazing. LOLA is just another L&O ![]() Love Bites. I'll watch it because of Becki Newton. Undercovers looks alright, need to see a bit more really. Chase looks like it belongs on CBS. I want to see it now. Outsourced is the new Mumbai Calling Outlaw will fail on Fridays, doesn't look too good. Clips are on NBC.com now. |

Some things which I think others would agree with:
1) more ratings outside of 8pm to 10pm 2) more peak figures reported, i.e. sport events. Don't pretend sport events don't exist or are meaningless. 3) report important figures outside of primetime, i.e. sporting events or other important programmes (for instance political stuff or the teatime shows, or even the breakfast shows when primetime is shabby) 4) table format for primetime stuff to follow what MG and Broadcast have started 5) less of X had that, Y had this - which becomes tedious 6) in-depth focus on specific demographics maybe once a week, i.e. with dramas did well in 16-34; ABC1 etc. 7) report ratings when they come out, not 24/48 hours later. Suggestion 6 might be pushing things though. Anyone agree with the above 7? ![]() Also is it just me or on the side bar is Headlines, Forum , Showbiz out of line with the rest?

I haven't looked at them all but definitely The Event looked good (the hijack scene particularly) and I thought Love Bites came over well (it's definitely harder for that kind of show to put together a hard hitting trailer) plus it has Becki Newton. I thought I'd be more impressed with Undercovers. The only thing I really took from the trailer was that the female lead seemed a bit weak. And the trailer for Chase wasn't really what I was expecting but I still like the ideas behind both of these shows. |

The Event - looks boring
LOLA - clip wouldn't work Love Bites - hard to judge from the clip, but if thats the best it gets its bad Undercovers - meh Chase - looks a bit 80s and amateur Outsourced - looks like it might be as funny as Mumbai Calling Outlaw - nothing new or original School Pride - its a clone of Extreme Home Makeover, but in a school So overall, quite good... in a sarcastic way. |

I reckon the Boy George drama on BBC2 may have done quite well if the amount of posts in that show's thread is anything to go by.

True. But the thing I have been wondering about is if the seventh season is Desperate Housewives' last season. I know that the actors are contracted to season seven, but Marc Cherry (creator of the show) was offered to do until season 9. Also, Felicity Huffman said she would love the show to go to season 10. Given the recent ratings decline, I'm not too sure. Then again, it is still in the Top 20. I think it still has potential to go further.
The trouble with DH is they bring new characters in, but they very much continue to play second fiddle to the original four and then often get written out within a season or two - I think Orson and Katherine probably the only exceptions to that. |
