Can't say I'm surprised at the ratings - the reaction from last week's episode was incredible.

I have a feeling this will be networked. Even if it is on BBC2.”

It's been a massive hit - people seem to have something of a morbid curiosity about it. As you said, it'll certainly find its way to a national airing at some point.

I wonder if Waterloo Road suffer's tonight from the two week break.

The Bill seems to be improving ever so slightly against Luther, which is falling. Emmerdale and EastEnders dented each other, and EastEnders is going to have a tough time of it for a little while now with the clashes and schedule changes thanks to the World Cup. Who Wants to be a Millionnaire? is just limping along now but Million Pound Drop held on to it's original audience well.

EastEnders will pull through though
I wonder what are the chances of Enders having 6m against BGT next week?

They have a few big storylines coming up in the next few weeks and the Big summer storyline so im sure they could do quite well even with slot changes.

I've got the feeling Holby and Waterloo road will take a break for a few weeks though

It could well do. Also it was slightly worrying that the episode felt very different without Eva Pope there, who is leaving in 4 episodes time. I do wonder whether the show is going to manage with the loss of her, Denise Welch and Angela Griffin in 4 episodes time. The more I think about it the BBC were very brave to commission 40 more episodes of it, especially considering next series the cast will be completely changed..

I think it will struggle to hit 6m with BGT having the head start and the ability to destroy everything in its path. I can also see the hour long on Monday falling in the 4m range by the end when a lot of viewers discover it's 'Woods Week'.

Im not sure either about the future of Waterloo Road.Series 2 and early series 3 saw lots of big character's leaving, however the very popular Denise Welch was still there.

Eva Pope's Rachel Mason has been huge and many people i know watch because of her.

EastEnders will dip below 6m I think - the big thing is whether it'll 'beat' it's lowest ever rating which was, I believe, in the summer of 2005 during the Death of Den aftershow when up against an hour long Emmerdale. It bounced back then, and will bounce back now; it's certainly not in such a weak state as then.

As for Holby City and Waterloo Road - the first Tuesday is fine for Holby as ITV have the football but BBC have the evening game on Wednesday. The following week, Waterloo Road would be fine, but BBC1 have the evening match on Tuesday.

The knockout stages, of course, could throw another fly into the ointment.

To be honest I hardly noticed she wasn't there, and I actually thought it was one of the best episodes since it returned for this half of the series. I think it'll do fine next series, particularly as Amanda Burton is a well known and popular actress, who will renew interest in it for some people.

I think she was the main reason the show really took off in Series 3. I'm actually surprised she's stayed in the show so long, but pleased, because she has carried the show at times. People say one character doesn't make a show, but I don't think this is the case with Waterloo Road.

Ratings will certainly be interesting for Series 6 and 7...

Looking at the spoilers on the Official website(In pictures) it looks quite good
Pat and Peggy In London and they are allways funny together

Denise sister makes a return

The ben Storyline continues

And that new Women (Zoe Lucker) also appears

Plus a storyline from the jacksons/Brannings
Looking at the cast lists most of the popular members appear that week yet the early spoilers suggested it was just the teens.

I think Monday and Friday Enders could struggle
but Tues and Thurs it might do better but one things for sure the BBC3 reapt will be well over amillion

I think Amanda Burton has been a good casting, definetely, I'm just very wary..but I guess you could be right about the show attracting new Amanda Burton fans..

The lowest EastEnders was 2006 wasn't it just under 4million but was against the Big House Collapse episode of Emmerdale

I don't see it being below 5million and i also can't see people sticking to BGT most of the evening

I reckon the Monday and Friday episodes will go below 5m as Britain's Got Talent has the half hour head start. If ITV are intelligent they'll have two ad breaks before 8pm, then only have the usual quarter hour/half hour/quarter to try and stop people remembering to flick over at 8pm for EastEnders.

I didn't realise it dipped below 4m. I don't think it'll go that low this time round.

EDIT: Oh, and Poker Face got 4.9m against a Sport Relief Special. I'm guessing it's only ITV holding it back, citing price? They really should give it another go. The ratings were strong enough.

SECOND EDIT: 5m for Big Brother that night as well - how times change! The launch is on 9th June this year, so it'll be up against Father and Son and Junior Apprentice.

Hmm, Million Pound Drop followed immediately after Desperate Housewives with only a Big Brother trailer in between. I hope I'm not reading too much into Channel 4 starting the show bang on 10pm rating wise?

With regarding EastEnders lowest rating
2006 was one of the worst years for the show so im not surpised however the BBC3 reapt saw a rise back then

Bad girls 5.1m against Only fools isn't bad
why did they actually axe it?

Ithink alot of the hardcore Fans will tune into EastEnders no matter what
But i wonder if on Tues and Thurs people will just go to BBC1 watch EastEnders/Holby ect and forget that BGT is on ITV(Unlikely though)?

The Apprentice: Familys could be fun.

If you read the article, its not the comedy, its a horse riding contest.

And 5.1m wasn't really 'great' in 2006. How times change.

Some people will, but the audience will be lower than normal. I think Tuesday night will be the lowest rated semi final for Britain's Got Talent this year, though.

That'll be the next spin off. One family, but only one can be Sugar's heir.

I guess 4.9m wasn't brilliant for Poker Face either, considering the state of the respective channels back then.
