ITV decided to go easy on BBC1 for the night with the National Movie Awards - which idiot decided to recommission that?! Million Pund Drop is building steadily. Junior Apprentice's boost could be shortlived.

American idol isnt doing too good and never did (even though its teh top rated show), 4.85m is something that ITV would feel average about right now.
Although when you see it as 4.85m, it makes certain statements seem bizzare. Jeff Zucker called it the "most impactful show in the history of television" and other network executives refer to it as The Death Star. What on earth would they do if shows were getting 50% shares like we see here! Quote:
Also, the superbowls which attract from 40-60m lets say, is the only show that in UK terms would attract around 10-11m ish (??) which is what BGT gets... and the Friends Final's 52.5m is around 12-14m in UK?? Thats good The Superbowl remains one of the few to buck the trend. In January it had 106m viewers which would be about 21m viewers to us.
US = UK TOP 5 SEASON 2009/10: 1. The Superbowl (CBS) - 106m = 21.2m 2. The Academy Awards (ABC) - 41.7m = 8.3m 3. Undercover Boss (CBS) - 38.65m = 7.7m 4. Winter Olympics (NBC) - 32.6m = 6.5m 5. American Idol (FOX) - 29.9m = 6.0m |

Surprised at the slot for WDYTYA USA, pleasently surprised, but still odd.
Some of the celebrities of other versions of WYTYA could easily have been broadcast as British episodes like Ardal O'Hanlon and Diarmund Gavin from the Irish version and Cathy Freeman from the Australian version. |

Who Do You Think You Are? is a rare show, where it does not really matters if its an import, as long as you know the celebrity featured.

it is a rare event a US show on BBC One primetime, and it should stay that way Little Britian USA I think was a co-production.

Well Million Pound Drop was great tonight. Even if every contestant was a replica of each other- Big Brother reject types.
They fairly whizzed through the contestants, as, well some weren't too bright and only lasted for a question or two. Still no winner of any amount yet though, far less the Million. Maybe have a big winner tomorrow, which I reckon they'll be expecting the highest ratings of the series for. Prediction- I think they'll get well over 3 million tomorrow night! I'll go for 3.5million. ![]() I found it a great laugh tonight though

You do not, under any circumstances, schedule a film after potentially one of the biggest peaks of the year. |

Absolutely ridiculous decision to put a movie repeat on after your top show's finale. If they have nothing else that could possibly use a 15million + lead-in they could have at least moved More Talent into that slot.

Hoping Million Pound Drop improved in last night's ratings. I'm sure some of those in the 'Gaining viewers under false pretences' thread might disagree...

[quote=Fudd;40534318Of course, what they're not thinking of is what impact the potential lead in could have on shows.[/QUOTE]
Yeah it really helped Mumbai Calling! This inheritance thing is waaayy overstated in importance. Viewers will probably say that after 150 minutes of watching BGT, thats it for the night regardless of what follows. Those that dont will switch to ITV2 |

Very poor share for Corrie last night - 31.6% is similar to what Emmerdale got. It'll be interesting to see if it gets the major rise next week that ITV will be hoping for. I'm still not convinced the new-style BGT week schedule is worth it. Low for All at Sea, rounding off a pretty bad night for ITV1.
Strong share for EastEnders, bouncing back well from the last couple of days. The WILTY repeat also did pretty well when you consider the original showings were only getting 2.5-3.0m iirc. |

I agree - a week in January, a week in May/June and a week in September would be best IMO.
