So Lauren's the one who's been saved 3 times, got very flattering VTs since the cocky one that left her in the bottom two, had the judges fawning all over her and was carrying a dog around in her latest VT yet... Danielle is the chosen one? Danielle, who got a song that saw Samantha to the bottom two during IDA at the exact same stage? And Danielle who has had 5 out of seven songs that were originally sung by men? Maybe she's Andrew's favourite but that doesn't make her chosen. Chosen would be always getting preferential treatment and that is not Danielle.

The public voted for Danielle and she did a really good performance last night. Also, she was excellent in Popular.

Are people going on about her being the "Chosen One" because they know she's a threat? That she's perfect for Dorothy, more perfect than their own favourite?

Just a thought really, I'm just glad DS isn't representative if the general public. I like Sophie but all this fawning over her just because she's not Danielle is a bit much and is putting me off her big time, considering she's quite weak. I know of course there are people who prefer Sophie to Danielle and have done from word go but reading the posts on here most seem to be now overexaggerating Sophie because she's nice and stuff.

Also, why is there no backlash against Sophie? Steph has been much better than her so far... It's just confusing!

I agree, and I also picked up on the bit where Lauren was carrying a dog round on the VT - didn't she say a week or two ago when the dogs had to 'pick' a girl that the dogs must have sensed that she is a 'cat person' or 'has cats at home' (something like that, don't quote me word for word! haha!) I picked up on that and thought it was strange that it was made to look like it was her dog.

And untrue and irrelevant to the question at hand but I expected some answers would be like this.

this thread just seems to me like an attempt to try and place the 'chosen one' nametag onto Lauren and to undermine Sophie . It's not going to work people can see Danielle is the favourite even if Lauren has high praise and Sophie imo is more talented than Danielle but that is of course subjective

I'm speaking for myself and it's untrue for me. I didn't think I needed to write that but okay, untrue IMO.

Well can honestly say that I tipped Danielle to win here on DS right after the auditions on 26th March ..... was still a Danielle fan until mid-April but then - having seen the performances - decided that there were three better girls in the competition Lauren, Sophie and Stephanie.

Stephanie's gone, Lauren is outstanding but not as Dorothy, so Sophie is my winner .... oh and yes the Danielle police can laugh all they like, a lot of us think Sophie is better than Danielle.

Okay then. Clearly the Danielle fans have recognised that Sophie is the biggest threat to their favourite winning the part. Sophie has just come out of her shell a lot more and us Sophie fans knew she had this kind of performance in her. Ever since Sophie was in the bottom 2 with Emilie everyone has written her off what with the bookies' odds for her to be eliminated next always high every week. Yet she proves them wrong week on week and she's getting stronger with every performance. The amount of times each girl has been in the bottom 2: Lauren three times, Danielle twice and Sophie once. If Sophie does end up winning then it shouldn't come as a shock since she's obviously been doing well with the viewers' vote. Let's cut the crap in saying Danielle is the 'chosen one' as we all know she is. Last night's show epitomised it with ALW singing her praises in the acting task and his admittance of "not thinking twice about the accent" even though that's what whole aim was. Don't get me started with Sheila! Satisfied with this comment?! All this is imo of course and obviously you won't agree on most of it but I hope I'm of some relevance now.

The comments seem to suggest she's the Lord's favourite but actually the song choices have been pretty rough on Danielle throughout the competiiton, apart from Mambo. Sophie's songs have been very well picked and ideal for her from what you see in her VT's.

However is the chosen one doesn't bother me, after all we are the ones voting and we'll choose who we think is Dorothy, not for who the Lord or the producers want.

I don't think its anything that complicated. Some people don't find Danielle that great. When the judges go on and on and ON about how great she is, and you don't see it yourself, its... really irritating. Danielle fans tend to be very passionate and very defensive, as if admitting there *might* be some manipulation somehow takes away from her talent, which isn't the case.

Danielle is the chosen one...raw talent.

Lauren is the buffer, polished and can undertake the role should any of the others fail to do so, nothing more than a banker.

Sophie is proving to be the 'people's choice', great singer but not confident enough to take on West End at the moment which may prove irrelevant with so much time to rehearse.

Sophie did make me nervous but is improving with her animated performances.

Lauren was ready from week one.

Danielle would settle just right in to the part.

I like all of the last 3 (any of the last 4 would have done for me).

They are all good - but like a lot of others I don't see why the panel keep telling us how amazing Danielle is week is week out.

She IS good - but she is no better than the other finalists in any of the 3 fields. All of them are capable of playing Dorothy and each will bring something different to the role.

On that basis - I will be dusting off the phone handset next week and voting for the one I like the best of the 3 - and that will be Sophie. Nothing to do with either of the other 2 being seen as the chosen ones by other FMs, just the fact that I think Sophie is the best IN MY HUMBLE OPINION and has come the furthest of the 3 of them!

I think if people were to watch the show back like i did, they might see (like i did) that when looking at the overall panel, Danielle didnt get much more praise than Sophie and Lauren tbh, Danielle didnt have all great comments and all of Sophies were good so i dont really see what people are making a big deal about :/

She was. But so was Lauren.

You may not support Sophie but others do, and are entitled to their opinions without being told their posts are untrue.

Sophie has gathered support throughout the run of the series, and hopefully will gain sufficient votes to carry her through to the finals.

In Sophie we have raw talent, but nontheless she IS talented, and IMO has the best voice of the remaining 4 girls

Sophie also has the likeability factor which is not to be underestimated. This is maybe where sge has the edge, certainly over Lauren, and maybe over Danielle, both of whom seem to be a little "stage school" .

Her acting is not as good as the others at this stage, but intensive training with the best coaches in Musical Theatre will have her perfect for the role by opening night, and that is all that matters

Yes, my feet are firmly in the Sophie camp, and I await tonight's results , 'cos I truly believe that she is a rank ousider who may just take us all by surprise.

Having said that, whoever wins will deserve all the success that goes winning and I hope to see the show and the winning contestant.

Yes I saw that too...I also saw ALW say that Sophie would be a 'beloved Dorothy' that even though her accent wasn't spot on, she would have no trouble with it...or any of the others girls either........I saw Charlotte say that Lauren could never give a bad performance, and John say that Sophie had upped her game again........Ialso heard ALW say that he was not going to comment anymore, and that the viewers should look at all aspects and previous weeks performances...and ignore nice grandparents (which all the girls had in their VTs)....

My point is, did you not notice any of the good things said about any of the others at all? Or do you just tune into the praise for Danielle because you are convinced she is the chosen one and therefore expect her to be praised....?

Also, just had to add that Lauren as the 'Chosen One' is laughable. Last night, before Lauren and Danielle performed, Graham asked ALW what we should look for in their performances. His answer said it all... what should we look for in Lauren? Well, he wants to see more vulnerability. What should we look for in Danielle? Well, she is extraordinary, rare, raw and has grown the most out of all the girls... so... what should we look for - how great she is? Oh, right.

Throughout the series though Danielle has been constantly praised when sometimes she shouldn't have been.


Look it's clear that Danielle is the chosen one. Yes, the other girls were praised last night but not as highly as Danielle got praised. WTF was with the Catherine Zeta Jones comment last week from Sheila? She knew that her rendition of On My Own was poor and so she brought out the big guns and gave this comment.
