What are your favourite and least favourite song choices. No matter how the Dorothy in question performed them.

Worst song choices in general:

1. The Voice Within
2. Send In The Clowns
3. The Man That Got Away
4. The Boy Does Nothing
5. That Don't Impress Me Much

I could go on, but I took a combination of generally rubbish choices and rubbish choices because they were inappropriate for Dorothy.

Best song song choices for a particular Dorothy:

1. Cabaret for Jessica - I think a lot of people suddenly went 'oh that's what her fans mean.
2. Mambo Italiano for Danielle - for the first time let her show her fun side.
3. It's Oh So Quiet for Steph - made people sit up and notice her
4. Reflection for Sophie - she really stamped her place in the competition with this
5. Nobody Knows for Lauren - I think after this a lot of people saw how she could play a young girl

Worst song choice for a particular Dorothy:

1. One Night Only for Dani - far too sexy for Dani
2. There You'll Be for Jessica - a power ballad queen she will never be
3. Cry Me A River for Danielle - too grown up for me
4. Rule The World for Steph - made her look too pop
5. Being Alive for Lauren - they might as well put a sign over her head saying good but not Dorothy.

I could go on with that list too.

I think you hit the nail on the head near the start of your post - very few songs seemed suitable for the role of Dorothy. Might take me a while to choose!

I agree with you on most of those. But the song choices this year have been quite bad. They could have gotten songs that had not been performed before on the previous shows. Too many comparisons.

I disagree on There You'll Be being *bad choice for Jessica. I think it was at that moment that she showed everyone that she caan hit those notes. But then again, I might be biased as it is one of my fave songs of all time.

My favourite songs are There You'll Be and I Will Always Love You. During*IDA I kept hoping that my fave contestant (Rachel) would perform one of them, and she did! she performed IWALY in the top five show. and this year, my favourite Dorothy, Jessica performed There You'll Be. So my two favourite songs covered by two contestants I really liked. Quite happy!

Also, Reflection was quite a turning point for Sophie, I think. I liked Lauren singing Heaven, it was lovely.

2. Could it be magic for Danielle - Though this is a song that would seem terrible whoever sang it.

4. Girls just want to have fun for Emilie
5. If I were a boy for Sophie
