One of the great front men, and the man behind Hear 'n Aid which was a lot better than Band Aid

Singer at my very first "real" gig - Rainbow at Liverpool Empire 1975(ish). Heavens, that was a long time ago. RIP Ronnie.

The greatest voice in Metal has gone. RIP Ronnie!

I saw him live 4 years ago. At his age he was still one of the best showmen in the business. He will be missed in the years to come!

Very sad news, I saw him live in 2008 and he was fantastic, a great performer even in his 60s. RIP.

Funny, I was just listening to the soundtrack of the movie Tenacious D: The Pick Of Destiny earlier and remember he was in one of the songs and in the movie itself it at the start. Shame about him passing, RIP.

the worst loss in music EVER. looked at the music headlines in digital spy and there was no mention.disgraceful. dio was worth a thousand of the boring bland crap that were on there.rap, dance and all the rest of that crud.i bet there will be hardly any mention in the likes of the sun,but if a member of jls or any talentless trash like that got a broken little toe it would be front page news.long live dio,the greatest voice in rock.
