Hey,

I'm looking for a speaker system to go with a Sony Bravia and PS3. Not looking for anything to extravagant, just as long as it supports Bravia Sync.

Any Ideas?

Gormond.

If Bravia Sync is an absolute must then I suspect you may find yourself restricted to Sony systems.

it would also help if you can give an idea of budget. No point recommending the top of the range Sony AV amp and some megabucks speaker system if all you can afford is their bottom of the range all in one

And on that note as well. Is your preference for a dedicated AV amp and speaker set-up or some sort of one box solution? The latter often include built in DVD or even Blu-Ray which strictly speaking you don't need as the PS3 plays disks perfectly well.

One thing to watch out for with one box systems is that they often have limited connectivity. Some just plug into the telly and have no inputs for external kit like the PS3.

This might be a place to start researching...

Just looking for a cheap solution really that will give me better sound than what i currently get through the TV.

Bravia sync isn't an absolute must if you think i can get better and cheaper elsewhere.

I don't really know anything about surround sound systems so an all in one would be simpler unless you can recommend exactly what to get.

Thanks

If you want a "proper" AV system you could do a whole lot worse than this

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/pro...AVX-380%28B%29

It has a very decent amp and speaker package at a pretty decent price. I would go so far as to suggest it would probably blow any one box system of similar money into the weeds. Oh and typically for Comet they get the description all wrong. It is NOT a DVD system. But bearing in mind you can spend 299 just on the amp in that package it is pretty good value for money.

Many of the all in one systems under this price level don't have anything like the connectivity of the above system. You could add several more bits of AV kit to the Onkyo amp before you run out of sockets to fill. many all in ones would be full up with just your PS3. Plus you get a DVD player you perhaps don't need.

Something to ponder over.

+1 more for the Onkyo. At that sort of price it makes buying anything else in the £150-£350 a really dumb move.

Hi

I have a Sony Bravia TV and was looking for the same and bought a Sony DAV-DZ330 DVD Home Cinema System from Play.com priced at £219.99.

It has a upscaling DVD player, HDMI connection and that all important optical input for PS3 etc. Supports Bravia Sync and the sound is great.

I'm very pleased with it

It does seem to be pretty good value for money.

The HT-R380 amp bears a very strong similarity to the TX-SR308 which is 300 quid on it's own. But careful comparision of the two reveals the HT-R380 has a specific on board amplifier for a passive sub. The 308 has a low level output to feed a powered sub.

But when I looked at the manuals the features were pretty much identical between the two. So all round a very decent system for the money.
