Episode 12 Tidbits [SPOILERS]
Abomination
18-05-2010
Okay, the amount of truth in any of the following remains unknown to me, it is just a bunch of things I have spotted floating around online. Some of this, we know to be true, and some remains a little more of a mystery....

Spoiler
Episode 12: The Pandorica Opens

A message on the oldest cliff-face in the universe, a puzzle box opening from the inside and a love that lasts thousands of years... The fates are drawing close around the Tardis – is this the day the Doctor falls?

- Rory is 'The Lone Centurion'
- It's '1,984 years' later
- The Doctor gets strapped to a violent chair in the Pandorica Chamber
- A significant number of familiar faces from the series show up at a Museum of History.
- There will be cybermen, a dalek and a sontaran appearing within the episode.
- The Doctor, Amy and River pay a visit to Stonehenge.
- Filming at Swansea Guildhall, where a penguin, a polar bear, a dinosaur and egyptian statues were brought in.
- Nick Briggs was on set at the Swansea Guildhall, suggesting he will be voicing aliens there.
- Filming at Amy's House, with Young Amy, a black woman and a white woman (played by Susan Vidler) who are all staring up at the night sky.
- The Doctor and River Song filmed at Amy's house, the Doctor wearing a top hat and tails. He gives River Song a diary and a silvery object.
- Young Amy filming with the actress who plays her aunt, inside the museum.
- Moffat described the Pandorica as having 'a dark and deadly stare'.
- The Doctor will temporarily sport a fez.
- Paul Kasey will be playing three seperate roles in the episode.
- The episode features Rory and Mr Pond.
- The Doctor, Amy and River Song go horse riding.
- The Doctor carries a flaming torch.
- Both episodes of the finale are very effects heavy according to Piers Wegner, Exec Producer.

Just for some speculation. Remember, this could turn out to be a complete set of fibs.

I'm curious as to where he gets it from. Maybe he has some spares in the box with the egg beater, string and corkscrew.

Rory and Mr Pond? Could they be the same person, perchance?

He took his wife's name? Or are you suggesting he's both Amy's fiance and her father or brother, both of while don't bear thinking about.

I can certainly imagine Rory taking Amy's name! So either we find out what happened to her parents, or the Rory before the wedding meets the Rory after the wedding.

Smith and Gillan were raving about episode 12 before episode 1 had even aired - I want it, damn it. But then... the series would almost be over... there's always a bad thing.

most, if not all, of that seems to tally with the spolier stuff that has been floating around, in some cases there is even pictorial confirmation of them, so I don't think it's going to turn out to be a set of fibs...

Ah well that's good then. And now we have them all in one place too. Can't wait for the finale....I'm oddly uninterested in this upcoming two-parter, which is not to say I wont enjoy it. I just think there was so much publicity for the earlier episodes (1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 me thinks) that we are entering mysterious terriotory with the latter selection, and it doesn't feel as hyped. But this has worked well in series gone by, with Human Nature being a prime example of a suprise hit (at the time, everybody was all hyped about the upcoming Moffat episode and the Saxon finale. HN/TFoB seemed a bit neglected beforehand)

Still, should be a hoot.

Rumour mill says Sophie Okonedo- Liz Ten- was in more than one episode, presumably this is the other one she is in.

Hmm, I haven't heard this, but it would be brilliant. She has my favourite quote of the series....

"I'm the bloody Queen, mate. Basically, I rule".

Tis a shame that The Beast Below is the episode of this series that I have enjoyed less than all the others. I even liked Victory of the Daleks.

What role does River play in the two part finale? I remember when they brought Jack back. He was useless in the two part finale for series 3.

Yes, have to agree here, although it is certainly more realsitic as not every character has to be a hero if they are in the scene. But I think River will play quite a significant role in the finale, more so than Jack did in Series 3. And I also think that she will be back for Series 6 as well.
