Red vs Blue in New Who (Eleventh Hour, Victory of the Daleks, Amy's Choice)

In Eleventh Hour, the new Tardis is definitely bluer. And Rory drives a red mini.

Obviously in the Dalek episode we've got the coloured Daleks. Is there a blue one?

In Amy's Choice. In one dream, the Doctor is wearing a red bowtie, whereas in Leadbridge he's wearing blue but driving a red VW camper.. The Dreamlord is wearing a red bowtie.

There are probably more examples. Anyone else notice this theme?

Leadworth, Upper Leadworth.

Red and Blue are primary colours I think, they are quite common.

The Dr Who studios are in Upper Boat so maybe a nod in that direction

He's worn both colour bowties in the season so far, I think, not just in the dreams.

The Tenth Doctor also wore blue and red versions of parts of his usual outfits - I think it's deliberately reminiscent.

So is this the litmus test?

This is a whole new level of spurious connections. Well done.

I do believe there are clues going all the way back to Spearhead from Space.

There's also a lot of green, for example the whole area around the castle in the last episode was covered in green stuff. Also the alien eye stalk was green.

I saw some white clouds and white snow falling from the sky. Significant?....you decide.

is it just me or are these type of threads becoming ever more desperate?

I understood the red and blue theme to represent travelling forwards and backwards in time (similar to the time vortex in the opening titles). This almost makes sense:

TEH - red tie and braces (DW has travelled forward from young Amelia's time)
TBB - red tie and braces (forward again to Starship UK)
VotD - blue (travelled back to WWII)
ToA and FaS - red (forwards in time)
VoV - blue (back to 16th Century Venice)
AC - both Red and Blue - see below
THE - red (forwards in time to 2020 assuming that AC left them in roughly the same time as VoV)

So the only oddity is in Amys Choice where the blue is worn in Leadworth (back in time to a dream world?) and the red on the Tardis. Amy's Choice doesn't seem to have any clear time reference except for the final few minutes which presumably sees them where they started - travelling away from Venice.

And then there's the (alledged) future-Doc in the forest scene in Flesh and Stone. In this shot the Doctor has a red tie, implying a move forwards in time. That conflicts with theories that this is a Doctor from the future travelling back to remind Amy to remember her past. But then again, it may well have been a pick-up shot and it has been croppped very close, which might lead you to think the editor is just trying to cover up a massive continuity error.

Also, based on trailers, the Doctor appears to have the following:

The Lodger - blue tie
Vincent - blue tie
Pandorica/Big Bang - red tie

So they fit the pattern too.

That sounds a bit like the Doppler effect, which I would imagine a Terry Nation or Douglas Adams might include. Sounds a bit scientific for the new team though.

Items moving away from the observer have their light moved towards the red end of the spectrum, items moving towards you towards the blue.

what about yellow? Doesn't it get a shout!

There's a big yellow school bus (AC) and a yellow Dalek, so I think yellow is the clue.

Not at all. From 2005, the red 'time vortex' colour has been used to denote moving forward in time, and the blue for moving back, for exactly that reason.
