Hi ,

Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer to DVD a TV programme I have recorded on to the BT Vision digital recorder?

I have recorded from Video to my DVD recorder in the past.

Has anyone done it from the BT Vision box and how? Is it just scart to scart?

Thanks for any help.

Scart to Scart will do the trick.

NOTE: You will only be able to record live TV and TV you have recorded, as all On demand is copy protected (With BBC Replay being the only exception).

It seems silly that you can not record from ITV/C4 or C5 replay as you could have recorded it live when it was broadcast just a week ago.

MK is correct.

you can record anything except premium content.

so thats:

Live TV
BBC Replay
Played back recordings
Main menus etc etc

you try any premium content and on a VHS it'll stop recording and on a DVD recorder it'll usually spit the disc out.

The only way around it is to use a scart adaptor but I'm not talking about that. You shouldn't need to record the premium on demand stuff.

Thanks, I had an idea it should work but thought I'd check first. I knew that we can't record onto DVD any 'on demand' stuff and that's what confused me. I'm so pleased I can do it - my family will be a bit happier too, as they went to Hamburg for the Fulham FC Final and left me in charge of recording the match onto DVD. I don't use the DVD recorder that much since getting the amazing BT vision digital box and...you guessed it, it didn't record...oops! Luckily, for me not them, Fulham lost and they weren't so upset at not having a copy on DVD but, luckily for me again, I had also recorded it on the vision box and the Channel 5 coverage was incredible - Any Fulham fans out there willl know what I mean - There was loads of extra stuff at the beginning which was really interesting..... just a shame the ending wasn't as good as the beginning
Thanks again everyone.

Use one of the special scart leads made by Sonel and copy protection wont matter.

Google search their name .
Mind you , the lead has gone up to £30 which is far dearer than it was when I got mine.

The lead allows you to record all box office and PPV type events too and from the Sky or Virgin boxes too
