In the closet gay celebs! Who are they?
I was thinking about this when i was watching "Afraid to be gay" on ITV the other day it was about rugby player Gareth Thomas talking about gay hate, Max clifford said that he knows many in the closet gay celebs who havent come out. And then i saw this about Matthew horne knowing gay celebs.
I wonder which celebs are in the closet gays? I cant think of anybody. |

Isn't the in the closet a clue to them not wanting you to know.
I heard John Barrowman getting asked about if celebs in his industry should come out. His answer, and I'm paraphrasing, was basically if you have some sort of emotional problem which means you prefer the closet, then have at. But for those who are in the closet to help their career, get over and come out, the weather's fine outside. |

well, it is up to individuals. And making little innuendos Matthew Horne is not really helpful. (and only two....???)
If someone makes a song and dance about being straight and is actually gay, then that is hypocricy, but although I don't really approve I can see why people do "pretend" |

A close family member of mine was gay, he didnt tell alot of his family until very close to his death, and even at the point of knowing he was dying his mother and brother refused to accept it. Although they said they loved him they would not go to visit him before he died. There are alot of issues involved with "coming out of the closet", and its not something any outsider can understand. Alot of the time its not the shame a person feels for themself, but rather the risk of losing loved ones and friends. I know we seem to live in a modern world now where being homosexual or bisexual is accepted and embraced, but we really dont. Religion and stereotyping still plays a big part in the lack of real acceptance.
Dont forget it takes alot of bottle to tell people something so personal about yourself, and if you're an introverted private type of person, then it must be so so hard. They may even quite rightly believe its none of anyones business. Whilst there are still threads like this ongoing, whilst people still make an issue out of peoples sexualities then it will continue to raise eyebrows and wont feel normal. Its not like people need to know for any particular reason at all, its just for the sake of knowing. Its not as if knowing someone is gay is really that interesting at all. And if someone pretends to be straight in the media, then thats their choice, not every gay person wants to be an advocate for gay rights and a role model for other gay people. |

Also for some people they may be a bit vague about their sexuality - soem peopel are "confused" or uncertain which is different ot denial. I didn't used ot think this, but I do think it is unfair people are asked to confirm or deny their sexuality. It is better as a society to be cooler and more laid back - like the French

When one sees all the hatred and homophobia that gay people face in their every day lives especially in the 21st century I do not blame people for not wanting to "come out".

To be honest I think celebrities worry more about how it may affect the sales of their latest stuff they are flogging, which is a bit sad.
