I'll be hoping Ryan Gosling appears on here soon... or at least dabbles a bit...

Personally I wish celebs would just shut up about their private lives. I like John Barrowman but I hate it that he talks non-stop about his gay life. I get bored to death with all these stories about celebs getting married, divorced, married and people like Tom Cruise telling the world how he felt for Katie and now she has left him. Makes him look just daft. I know some gay stars who have said it has destroyed their movie careers after they came out about their sexuality. So, perhaps more in Hollywood than in Europe, it is dangerous to be too open about your life.

On the other hand you have Cowell et al who make this sort of 'outing' sport quite amusing. |

In fact I know a lot of gay people who have never had abuse shouted at them in the street. Don't beat me down but if someone was on X Factor and they received abuse in public, isn't that more likely to be because they were on X Factor than because they are gay/camp/straight/bisexual/trisexual/omnisexual/vegisexual? The names they were calling him may have had homophobic undertones but is it not the case that a bunch of buffoons have seen "that fella off X Factor" and started shouting "faggot" or whatever at him? I'm not condoning it but I'm pretty sure almost every person who has ever been on X Factor/Big Brother/Any Other Crap Reality Show will have received abuse of some kind during and following the show. It kind of goes with the territory I'm afraid. I can understand the bloke have a problem with getting abused but not with the issue about being gay? Why would it matter if people thought he was gay? Any famous person worth their salt knows you haven't made it 'til you've had your first gay rumour ![]() And we don't have a thread for every series of X Factor and Big Brother. They have their own forums

I have it on good authority that someone who will be known simply as 'DM' is gay.

Surely to goodness we have moved on rather from a prurient round-up of chaps and chappesses we can snigger at because they are 'in the closet'? What is the point of this thread? As someone pointed out a year or two ago, if someone is 'in the closet', they will have a good reason for it and, more to the point, if we bang the drum about each and every one of us deserving the same degree of respect, then we should have the good grace to leave them alone.
