I found the "Afraid To Be Gay" programme interesting to watch.
In particular the hidden camera footage of people reacting to the guys holding hands. I thought to myself - they may react that way with just one couple but add more guys (or girls) holding hands and see how that reaction would change. I wanted to mention girls holding hands to keep things more equal but I get the impression no-one minds girls holding hands. Presumably because many girls do it out of friendship. Surely everyone is entitled to hold hands with whoever they want. It's a mutual act of love between two people. There really is nothing more special than that. Anyone who sees the gender of the people in love needs to wake up and realise that love goes beyond gender (it always did). |

Matt Horne must be some kind of simpleton if he thinks life is as black and white as that. He has no idea what is involved in some people's reasons for staying in the closet.
I agree that if it's purely a case of worrying they won't get offered the roles they want in films or if women will go off them, than yes that seems pretty poor and does nothing for gay people in the industry, only serving to keep perpetuating the inequality. But, I would say that is rarely just the case. Most often, people are in the closet to their families too, which must cause emotional distress and anguish. Perhaps their families won't accept it or they have an issue with accepting their sexualities themselves? Either way, it is no-one else's place to pass judgement on others. Just because someone happens to be in the public eye, it does not mean that every detail of the personal life should be made public property. |

Derren Brown was never in the closet, it was just never an issue. He wasn't pretending to be anything else it was just a question nobody asked and he is a pretty private guy anyway.

I thought that, but then they got married, and I wouldn't have thought marriage was necessary. so maybe he's straight and camp. Who knows?
Dan said Dermott O'Leary. What on Earth makes you think that? He'd be the last person I'd think of. |

I think Robbie Williams is gay but is in total denial about it hence flaunting relationships with all these women
I also think Rob Pattinson might be gay |

The reason that certain Celebs do not come out of the closet is the fear that doing so will affect their career. Many producers while not being homophobic are very very blinkered when it comes to casting and if you have that gay tag then that is where you'll stay unless your old enough not to pose any sexual threat. |

David Walliams, I doubt it.
No reason for him not to come out if he was for a start. He is just camp, straight but true there are straight camp men. |

Very true. There are lots of gay men who haven't a bit of camp in their bodies, but quite a few straight guys who are very camp - but totally heterosexual.

I am so glad to see some people on this forum are not so ignorant to think that camp traits = gay.
