Just out of curiosity, what traits do set off your "gaydar". As a gay man myself, I don't believe in the whole "gaydar" thing.

I'm not sure to be honest, maybe it's a just a mixture of little things, slight changes in mannerisms when around males v females, some are probably really subtle, but I can usually spot them! lol

I completely co-sign this. She has the most bizarre relationships with men. The only two main loves in her life (that we know of) are both big time rumoured gay men. Plus, both these relationships seemed a little too orchestrated to me.

I was convinced that Matt Horne was gay but having read that article I`m not sure. I`ve never seen the drama/.film about Boy George so I`m not basing it on that.

Having read some of the posts on here I`m convinced that a lot of men mentioned aren`t gay but the gay men on here would like them to be!

I don`t agree with outing people because they may have family reasons for not coming out. I adored Freddie Mercury & had heard all the rumours but didn`t want to believe them as I fancied him. He tried to stay in the closet because of his family & their strict religious beliefs. Since his death his mother has talked about him but not about his sexuality. His father has never spoken about him at all.

I didn't buy the whole Derek thing at all, and she never confirmed or denied it but she never seemed bothered with the stories in the media. I think it was all very convenient for her

i googled it after reading rumours on here and there was some lesbian forum that had page after page of youtube vids of them and times noted that showed little moments you'd miss or think nothing off. Not sure that Cheryl and Kimberley are gay but they did seem very close.

Yeah I agree. I don't have the most tuned in gaydar but when I once heard a blind about Girls Aloud years ago that two of them were in a relationship together I always assumed it was Cheryl but didn't know the other one. She did have a bit of a butch look going on in the early days. But it's her relationships with men that swings it for me. None of them seem geniune. I think Ashley and her bearded each other and maybe that's why she might be getting back with him as it's 'safe'. Saying that I think they are both bi but swing towards the same sex, hence Ashleys 'affairs' with other women.


How did you not know Freddie way gay? He ticked every box of the moustachioed, macho/camp, gay stereotype in the book. Actually a good friend of mine idolises him and she refused to believe it at the time too!

I think it's funny that people seem sooooooo desperate for stars - many of whom are married with children for petes sakes - to be gay. It's comedy. Unless they come out I take it that everyone is straight...let's face it, recent studies suggest only something like 5% of men and 8% of women are gay/bisexual, so I think my reasoning is pretty safe.

This only works if actors have an average level of homosexuality, when it is possible - perhaps quite likely, that they have an above average level. I don't know of any scientific survey of actors, but there was an extensive survey of professional dancers in the US that produced interesting figures. While female dancers were no more likely to be lesbian than the general population, an actual majority of male dancers identified as gay or bi. The acting level could be much less and still be several times the 'normal' proportion.

I never know what to make of gay rumours, about 6 years ago there were loads concerning a vampire who's been LOST with people saying they had proof and then they stopped dead and he's just unveiled his girlfriend, I don't know what to make of these rumours anymore, I think till they say 'I'm gay' I'll think otherwise lol

I'd say the amount of gay men in showbiz is much much higher than in the general population : by showbiz, I mean everything....TV, radio, film, music, theatre etc.

Clearly, gay men seem to be attracted to the industry, whereas I suspect a lot of straight men are indifferent to it. You'll often hear straight men who ended up in showbiz saying they stumbled into it by accident, whereas it's the gay men who say they knew they wanted to be involved in it from an early age.

i really don't think cheryl is bi even! she may be a bit rough around the edges with her tattoos. however, i think she definitely straight. she just happens to have made one appalling choice/

I like your choice but I think you might be barking up the wrong tree! Tom Welling has been married for ages and, having seen the pictures of him with Jamie (his wife), he is either a VERY good actor or is still in love with her!
