Wow. That's pretty awful and more than a little odd. I feel the same as you do about it.
In a way I feel these celebs make it worse for themselves as in their minds it's probably this huge
thing, whereas if they'd been open about it from the get go it wouldn't be. Also it's tempting to lump people into "straight" of "gay", when in actuality sexuality can be a lot more fluid.

Ultimately people have the right to share whatever info they want about their personal lives.
(And if everyone were out, what would we gossip about?)
