Iplayer- am I doing something wrong?
Hi
I have a foxsat hdr and have tried connecting to my modem to get the iplayer. However, when I connect and select the red button I just keep getting a message saying there is a fault and to try again later. I have to exit by pressing the yellow button. I have a 10mb connection and I have booted and rebooted both the hdr and my modem but nothing, any ideas or suggestions. Thanks |

Which make and model modem do you have and who is your broadband or cable provider?
Also on your HDR check under system -> network to see if you have valid ip details for your home network. Automan |

I am currently on virgin with their cisco modem and a netgear wnr2000 router but previously I was on bt with a home hub v2 and had the same problem.
Under network I have valid i.p details. I am only using single feed to the hdr though? |

Thanks Virgin Media modems are reknowned at being slow at delivering ip address's if in the case you removed the router then connected the hdr. Fully powering off the modem for at least 30 seconds after swapping router for hdr should solve the problem. Is the router directly connected to the hdr? If so the make sure the router and hdr are set to DHCP! Graham |

If you are connecting the modem directly to the TV then you may have to wait 30 mins or so with the modem off. Virgin Media have a timeout on the MAC address registered of about half an hour in my experience.

Update...
I now have the connection working. I tried everything but eventually after doing a master reset of the hdr it connected first time. Thanks for all the suggestions though. |
