Lighthouse Family
What happened to them - loved them back then, they had uplifting songs for the summer.

Their song (I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be) Free was our school graduation song (its common in Irish secondary schools to have a special 'graduation' song for the graduating class). Were Lighthouse Family successful in the charts? Never heard much of them apart from that one song.

![]() ![]() I absolutely love 'High' ... just listened to it again, brought back so many happy memories of school times. Made me feel quite nostalgic actually! |

Just so middle of the road and casual I hate vengaboys and the cartoonsdont get me wrong, but the lighthouse family is insidious blandness, like a creeping disease of niceness.
![]() Im sure they are nice blokes and that and my hatred is some twisted projection of myself but I still hate them, lol. to be fair my running hatred of them is fuelled by the fact my friends are well aware of my irrational hate and insist o putting a quids worth of lighthouse family on everytime they see a jukebox. |

As far as I know their most successful songs in the UK were Lifted from 1996 and High from 1998. High made the top 40 best-sellers of the year. During the General Election campaign in 2001 the Labour party kept plugging Lifted!

What's to hate?
...they're not Westlife after all!
I was never a huge fan but Lighthouse Family were harmless. Raincloud was always a great song, and this mix of their final single Happy (summer 2002) is awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E48Y7...eature=related |
