The award-winning documentary Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage is coming to cinemas across the UK for one night only on Monday, June 7

About The Film

Rush are one of rock’s most influential bands, ranked third for most gold and platinum albums behind The Beatles and Rolling Stones. Featuring never-before-seen archival footage and interviews with some of today’s most respected rock artists, Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage explores the 40-year career and phenomenon behind what could be the world’s biggest cult band. The film is directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn (the pair behind the award winning Metal: A Headbangers Journey and Iron Maiden: Flight 666).

I'm looking forward to seeing it, probably won't make a cinema screening but I'll certainly be getting the Blu-ray when it comes out!!!

The latest rumour is Rush will be touring the UK either at the end of this year or early next!!

Couldn't see a sign of a UK tour from a casual glance at their web site. But either way it seems standard for them to release a DVD after each tour now.

Interesting that it's by the same guys who did Flight 666 (excellent documentary). I'll definitely have a look at this, since I've got quite a few Rush albums (personal favourites being Permanent Waves and Hemispheres).

I was at the recording and filming of the Snakes and Arrows tour in Rotterdam. Fascinating to see how it's done.

No way this is going to be screened anywhere near my hometown.
So I have to wait for the Blue Ray of this documentary to be released.

Geddy and Alex interviewed on Canadian TV - starts about 4 minutes in, ends about 20 minutes in.

I just watched it---a great doc, looks and sounds fantastic. I'm not a huge fan, but know "the hits," and really enjoyed it. The three seem like great guys, goofy and real...and a bit eccentric, too. Just as you might expect from a band that's been selling millions for a few decades.

Extras are good, too.

Only recently watched DVD 1. Good stuff. It was strange not just seeing very early photos of Geddy and Alex but also some early pre-Rush video clips. It was amusing watching young Alex doing his stroppy teenager impersonation.
